Personality: Sour Apple is a very stern and strict pony. She often comes off as rude and stand offish. She is very dedicated to working hard on the Apple Farm. Despite this, she is incredibly loyal and would do anything for her friends. When they come to her for help, they know that she will be blunt and give them the honest truth even if it may hurt.

Early Life: Applejack and Rainbow Dash very much wanted a child together after being married for several years, but Applejack wanted nothing more than the child to have Apple blood. In order to solve this they approached Big Mac and asked him to be a donor. Through artificial means, Rainbow Dash became pregnant with their child. The pregnancy was long and hard, but Sour Apple was born healthy and strong. She was a very quiet baby and grew up to be quite reclusive and shy, only being prompted to make friends by Applejack and Rainbow Dash. The first friend she ever made was Sugar Pie.

Cutie Mark: Sour Apple was always willing to do her chores around the farm and did them very well she was hardworking and dedicated. When Sour Apple was about 10 years old she had yet to receive her Cutie Mark but she didn't really care. The Apple Family was preparing for a massive shipment in preparation for the Summer Sun Celebration and they were working extra hard. They had several giant crates of apples to ship to Canterlot when suddenly Sour Apple caught a strange scent. It was the scent of rotting apple. She forced the shipment to stop and managed to track down the crate that had the bad apple. Her family was unable to scent the apple as she did, but sure enough they pried open the crate and found a single, rotting apple. In that moment Sour Apple realized that she had a special sense for detecting bad apples and earned her Cutie Mark, as she grew up she became the head of quality control for Sweet Apple Acres.

The Separation: Sour Apple was only two months old when Rainbow Dash and Applejack separated so she didn't ever notice a difference. She would originally spend time with Rainbow Dash at her own home but the whole family knew that Sour Apple was happiest at Sweet Apple Acres and she stopped visiting Rainbow Dash as much. Sour Apple loves both of her mothers and she and Rainbow Dash visit each other frequently. Sour Apple also enjoys spending time with all of her siblings, even if she's rather stoic about it.
