Description Pandoras Box revisited

"The light escaping the box is ripping the fairies wings to pieces. Forever destroying her ability for flying."

About the update...
I did a bit of changes on this, added the bluish color which in my mind improves the effect of the light. Also I listened to the critique and changed the wings a bit. Also a big improvement. Its been resting on my harddrive for some weeks now so it was about time to submit it.

Let me say that this piece is striking. The piercing light and desolate landscape only enhance the piece. If I were to suggest any changes to it at all it would only be a few. I would like to note that it appears as though the wings, which are being shattered, look as if they have grown out of the back of her head, which we can assume they have not. Also, since the tale of Pandora's box is one of curiosity forever changing the face of the earth, I would suggest changing the light emitting from the box into a type of colour stream, to illustrate this change. Lastly, the expression on the fairy seems almost pensive, I would expect an expression of surprise, bewilderment or curiosity. Other than that, this piece is wonderfully done, and I fully enjoy it.

Thank you for your critique. The wings have a tendency to look a bit head grown but Im working on moving them down a bit. I can agree with the point that one would expect surprise or curiosity. I liked the pose and the expression since it could be viewed as a form or passive thoughtfulness over the consequences of the opening. Pandoras original box was letting out the evil into the world. This box takes away the ability to fly which is basically the fairies world. Man I stretched that one. In the end it was a fun piece to work with and Im happy that you liked it.
