Description
I haven’t animated ANYTHING in years! Well, other than couple simple 3D thingies, but they don’t count. THIS is what I’ve been trained for.I feel a bit rusty, but all things considering this doesn’t look all that bad. It was great to get this out of my system.

First off I have to say that I absolutely love this animation. It's very smooth and it really brings the point/vision across! I like how each step brings it in perfect arcs—this bit of stylish realism makes it appealing to watch and also believable.
The anatomy is great, and that's something that's hard to achieve when animating in general. I also love the setting and how the raptor appears purposeful; it wants to get somewhere in a hurry!
However, I feel like the jumps in general are just a tad fast. They come one after the other with barely a second thought, which conveys energy but it seems a bit unrealistic. Don't get me wrong, this could be totally a style problem as everyone has their different animation styles and opinions (plus I don't know the full story of this guy e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title="
(Wink)"/> but maybe an extra frame of its leg bending and taking the impact of the landing after it jumps, to convey more weight? Again I don't know the story so if that's the way you wanted to go then amazing work! Overall I really love this piece!

I couldn't agree about a leg sigi mentioned in her critique because for me it looks totally natural, he jumps first on his left foot, then right and he jumps away from the screen. And when he jumps there is inertia of his left leg.
Overall it looks very natural, dynamis, like Disney animation sketch. I especially like when he turns dark because running into a shadow.
I gave almost max originality because when I thought deeply (so my brain almost exploded), finally I reminded myslef that I've seen something similar in 'Jurasic Park' when I was 7 e.deviantart.net/emoticons/n/n… " width="35" height="31" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="122" title="#1"/> But I'm not sure if it makes it less original.

Really nice movement and good arcs e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title="
(Smile)"/> The only thing I could point out is that when the raptor lands closest to the camera, it picks up its right foot so fast that it looks like it both lands and jumps on one leg. I would give it a little more time there, and also get a little more anticipation into it before it jumps; that would also give it a little more weight. Right now it looks like nothing is more easy than jumping over fallen trees, and if that how you want it to feel, it works very nicely
e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title="
(Smile)"/> If you want more of a heavy raptor, then the weight thing applies a little more, imo. Smooth and good work
e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title="
(Big Grin)"/> (Hope this counts as critique)

Vau, tuon dinon liikkeet on niin sulavia. Aivan ihana vaikka ei olekkaan yksityiskohtainen. Toivottavasti minäkin voisin joskus tehdä animaatioita jotka näyttävät näin hienolta liikeradaltaan. .

You have no idea how happy it made me to see this. I know it's only a sketch, but everything is so beautifully done! The flow-y-ness of it just makes me swoon. I wish I could do this kind of thing. I really do.

I particularly like to change in shade of the character as it moves under the tree. I also love how easily the change in direction is executed.

I think the hop over the stream is a bit too fast for the amount of ground covered, but otherwise THIS IS SO DANG SMOOTH AND DELICIOUS?
