Its quite funny though and I suppose it is still a very open minded thing because its showing some initiative to adapting to the changing times and being able to see racism as something ignorant and counter-productive that needs to be gotten rid of

If one is really lucky, then they come to realize that no one is annoying -- there are simply uniqueness, compatibilities and preferences and if people could respect these things without feeling "guilty" about accepting how they feel, there would be no fighting about anything.
It would be more like:
Person #1: wanna be friends?
Person #2: not really, you just don't resonate with me. can't quite place it, just something doesn't feel right about the whole thing.

I hope you're right. I just don't know if it will happen. We humans are selfish creatures who have a hard time relating with each other. If we meet someone we don't jive with, it seems second nature to label them as undesirable or worthless. The only way we can reach the point you speak of is if every human on earth makes an effort to be more respectful. Given the odds, it doesn't seem likely, although I wish it was.

Believing is seeing, not the other way around. There are many improving attitudes on this planet. There are also a lot of really shitty attitude as well. But if all we want to see is the shitty attitudes, we won't see any of the good ones and it won't matter how many people have those good attitudes. We will refuse to see it based upon a belief that it does not exist and so there is nothing to see, so why bother looking?

I think we just like to blame others to avoid taking responsibility. Because the real kick to the nuts of the ego is that our choices and our actions are truly our own. So if we see evidence about something, then to see it and understand it means that we must take responsibility for our actions in light of said evidence. But if we put ourselves into a self-imposed ignorance and deem all evidence as such bullshit that we don't even want to see it -- then what we do not see we can not know, what we can not know we can not act upon and thus -- NOTHING is our fault. It must then be someone or something ELSE'S fault so fingers get pointed, the buck starts to get passed ... everyone wants someone to own up, but no one will. So we debate ourselves into a fog of stupidity until we're so blind we walk right off of a cliff.
But if we can manage to say fuck ego and have the balls, life starts to get clear.
