Sure, uh... that's close enough, Derpy.---
Animation is fun to do! Should've done it in Flash. *facepalm*.
Made by combining show footage with my own stuff.
Since I managed to slaughter my system while producing this, I will upload a non-watermarked version when I can get it to behave!

A combination of Illustrator and Photoshop for the frames, which were then tied together in Premiere.
Honestly, there are much better ways to animate things, but I have no idea what I'm doing (tend to stick to still images. Actually, been stuck on stills since forever, really) so that was what I came up with, heh.
I'm currently working on something else which has thus far been mostly an Illustrator/After-Effects job as part of a much bigger project which I'm probably going to regret committing to (it's gonna take FOREVER) but if it works, it'll be fairly awesome, and hopefully you will all like it!
I will post one such scene from that project in the coming few days. It will be a rough draft, won't contain quite the same content as the final scene and not very much will be going on (seriously, it'll probably be, uh, 'relaxing' rather than quick/short/funny like Derpy-scoot), but if people wind up liking what they see, it will be motivation for me to muscle on with the rest of it (whole project will probably be over two minutes long).

I tried Flash at first, but I'm really not very good at it. So... I gave up and used a combination of Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere, and basically hopped between them all, working on it frame-by-frame, which gave far more precise results than I could get in Flash (which again, I suck at).
The background and Sweetie Belle were cropped from show footage, and then the Hub logo was cleaned out of the frames (couldn't find a clean source at the time). I guess you could say Sweetie Belle is a show-footage-vector-and-paint-layer hybrid.
Derpy was where most of the work went in, haha. She's 100% done from scratch. She was actually animated at twice the frame rate you see here, but I dropped half of them because the smooth/jerky difference between her and Sweetie Belle looked weird. Could've saved a lot of time if I'd just thought about it to begin with.
So yeah...there are definitely better/more efficient ways to animate things! I've never done animation before, so it was a mistake-filled epic learning process for me and hopefully my next 'releases' will benefit from it.

I figured Derpy would be a little less 'graceful', plus being bigger and thus heavier it would be harder for her to do, which is one reason she's scooting with both rear legs at once rather than one at a time like Sweetie Belle.
