I have a question about the Admins tab that you can put on your front page, how do you add pictures? I can't seem to figure it out.

For that, edit the widget and use :thumb: codes in the description.
Refer to "Deviation Linking" here:

Is there any way to make something similar to a Hidden Group on Facebook would be (effectively only letting people I invite access the group and nobody else can see what I post in there?)

Only the administrators for a group can see and access the "Back Room" section of the group. The max number of admins for one group is limited to 99. The "Back Room" is meant for communication between users and doesn't support posting private artwork.

This is really helpful, but am I blind or I couldn't notice one thing I have problem with.
The problem is I want to change the contribution to gallery thing. There is a thing, that when pressed on 'Contribute to Gallery', site immediately goes to 'New Submission' instead of 'Contribute' menu. Is there a way changing that or should we just get used to going to gallery and them pressing contribute-->contribute existing deviation?

Can you send me a screen capture of what you are referring to? When I go a group's gallery and then to one of the folders, there's a "Submit to This Folder" button at the top right. Clicking on this opens a drop down with two options: "Submit a New Deviation" and "Contribute an Existing Deviation".

I'm speaking about those two options that goes to 'new submition' page.
Others told me that they don't get these options (except for the ones where you go to gallery. There they see both options)

~Others told me that they don't get these options
That section in blue only appears the first few times you visit a group. It goes if you ever hit the "x" at the top right of the blue box. Most users should be using buttons other than the blue ones to submit art to the group.
The button in the drop down at the very left takes me to the group's gallery and prompts me to "Choose a Deviation" that already exists, not a new one.
What does the "New Submission" dialog box look like?

popolis In reply to parallellogic [2015-07-12 19:49:58 +0000 UTC]
oh, I see, so that blue section will disappear after a while (though I wonder how long will it take to disappear)
new submission looks like exactly like the one you go to, when submitting new deviation: www.deviantart.com/submit/devi…
well, at least that's what I'm getting.

Can you still leave comments on the group's profile page? It's possible you were blocked by the group. Otherwise you have inadvertently left the group at some point in which case you should be able to re-join without much trouble.

You can submit artwork from the site into your group or you can allow users to submit their art to your group. The details of how to do booth are in the group section of the faq .

I read through this (great tutorial btw) and I have been looking in a lot of places for days but I have found nothing on how to tag a group. I've seen people that have added a group's icon in their description like one does with a deviant's icon or name. I know those are : icon : or : dev : but I can't figure out what a group's would be. Maybe you know?

You can use :dev: and :icon: for a group username just like you can for a regular account's username.

will show just first 3-4 and in end add
its look likes so in Nature , in Flowers , in Forests and Trees , in Lanscap... you see ? in the end only ... and you cant to look in which other folders this or this artwork were copied and its very not cozy Admin should remember in which folder he already put and in which not yet put
👍: 0 ⏩: 0
UAkimov09 In reply to parallellogic [2015-01-05 11:17:09 +0000 UTC]
yes its artists can only add tags and those tags you can see only if you will open those artist artwork and she asked about tags or i dont know how they calling (cause my lang not english) under tags i meant those links under every artworks in group which were added in some folder created by Admin , only in folder Featured system of group showing those links that Admin could get where he she put every artwork before for exemple if tags which you can see only under picture on own page of Artist they (tags) look likes so #nature #flowers #landscapes and etc and i speak about tags or links in group which let you get in which other folders which were created by Admin were put artworks so they look likes like this in Nature , in Flowers , in Landscapes
so problem number 1 in that as you know folder have limit its near 5016 artworks more you cant to put in one folder need create new and move them from Featured to this new and only then keep to add new artworks in Featured
i created such folder and moved there but here appeared problem only in folder Featured system showed those links and i could get where in which folders i already copied and not do this again only in Featured system show those links
its problem number 1
now problem number 2 in Featured those how system showing links implemented im sry but not nice for exemple if you added artwork in many folders then system will show just first 3-4 and in end add ... like etc. but not letting to open some list where you can look where also this picture was put / copied in which folders
please sry my english

As far as I know artists choose which tags show on the deviation. When you edit your own artwork, you have the option to add or remove tags yourself. To the best of my knowledge there is no way for group admins to add or remove tags. The connection between artwork in the "Featured" folder having tags is coincidental, I assume. Some artworks do not have tags because they were posted before tags were released - dA set the tags to hidden due to complaints.

''The connection between artwork in the "Featured" folder having tags is coincidental, I assume.''
this phrase i tried to translate but not very got about but i think its about my problem tags which connecting artworks which were posted in folder ''featured'' so those tags connecting artworks with other folders in group (where those artworks where copied by Admin before) this phrase came in my mind after translate this your phrase

UAkimov09 In reply to parallellogic [2015-01-05 16:14:31 +0000 UTC]
i meant not those tags i meant tags inside group when you copy ffrom featured folder artwork to folders then under artwork in Group appearing links with names those folders where this artwork was copied this links i meant i just dont know how them calling on deviant art i calling them as tags cause they similarity to those tags about which and i and you wrote early that them can write only person who is owner of this artwork and i speak about inside group already artworks when Admin adding artwork in folders like Humans Nature Flowers so then under artwork appearing names of folders where Admin copied this picture and those tags made in form links for fast coming in those folders i wrote before their diffrents from normal tags which can write only owner of picture they have before their name this symbol # and tags in group have in before name in Nature , Humans , Flowers etc. look screenshot
1 drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Ci_…
2 drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Ci_…
so how calling those in About just Nature , and etc ? i call them as tags cause i not very nice with english maybe you can tell me how they calling ?

Thank you for the screenshots. I see what you are talking about now. You are saying that dA lists the folder under each artwork thumbnail in the group's gallery. I have not seen this feature before. It appears to be new. "Tags" are different than what you are talking about. Tags are keywords that the artist uses to describe their own artwork so it can be found in the search engine. The folders listed under the artwork in groups makes managing the group easier, but are not used in the dA search engine. It seems the folders below the thumbnails only appear in the "Featured" folder when the artwork is also listed in other group folders. This is unique to the "Featured" folder. If you view the artwork in a different folder, the folders will not appear under the thumbnail. Does that answer your question?

1 ''Thank you for the screenshots.'' - You're Welcome ! Also Thank You from Your answer and help me !
2 '' I see what you are talking about now. '' - i very glad that you got what i meant.
3 ''You are saying that dA lists the folder under each artwork thumbnail in the group's gallery. '' - yes i told about (dA lists the folder) hmm
hmm so they calling ''dA lists the folder'' or ''listed folders'' ?
I want to show you this one screenshot , that show that those ''da lists the folder'' also have mistakes , on my opinion they aren't very well implemented, also please read what i wrote on this screenshot drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Ci_…
4 '' "Tags" are different than what you are talking about. Tags are keywords that the artist uses to describe their own artwork so it can be found in the search engine. '' - i full agreed with this .
5 ''The folders listed under the artwork in groups makes managing the group easier, but are not used in the dA search engine.'' - yes they listed under artworks for help Admin to see in which folders he copied this one artwork , thats right , just Admins of deviant art not to end implemented those listed the folder and on this screenshot ( drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Ci_… ) i hope you got why i so think
6 ''It seems the folders below the thumbnails only appear in the "Featured" folder when the artwork is also listed in other group folders. This is unique to the "Featured" folder. '' - yes they appear only in Featured folder same and about account of just user of deviant - in user gallery also those listed the folder appearing below thumbnail only in folder ''Featured''
7 ''This is unique to the "Featured" folder. '' - thats very sad , i wish that Admins of dA or developers of dA could to fix this : ( folder Featured as and any other folder have limit in 5000 artworks so if you moved from folder ''Featured'' all artworks to for exemple created by you folder ''Featured 1'' or ''any other name'' then in this one folder - all those ''listed the folder'' - disappearing... and its very bad Admin cant get which artworks and where he copied ;(

yes the group admin said that he added the tags, but when he moved the artworks to another folder they stopped appearing.
do you sir think that the DA staff is slowly deleting this idea about tags?bcause their current state is confusing some of my artworks have them and other dont.as well as in the group.

parallellogic In reply to Dekaal-lm [2015-01-05 02:37:51 +0000 UTC]
Was he adding the tags to his own work or to someone else's?
I highly doubt they're removing tags, they've just started releasing this feature. This may just be a snag they've hit temporarily while pushing the feature live.
Do you notice that newer artwork has tags and older ones do not? I think the staff may have hidden them on older artwork due to complaints

The staff tried to set that up, but there are legal issues with more than one person accessing an account online where the funds become taxable. Currently the only way to collect points is to ask users to donate to your home account or to a separate user account set up specifically to collect donations for your group. Groups themselves cannot receive points.
