Hey there.  I've just re-upgraded a group to a super group, and I'm trying to figure out how to create new member classes.  I've looked everywhere for information on how to do this, and I'm drawing a big blank.  I thought it might be quicker to ask a knowledgeable deviant rather than contacting the helpdesk (though I will if I have to).

parallellogic In reply to HarmonicSonic [2014-01-29 21:33:17 +0000 UTC]

I believe you should be able to do it through the

Admin Area >> Manage Members

section:

stamp-heaven.deviantart.com/ad…

there's a pencil icon that appears when you select a moderator class so you can rename it.  Somewhere near there should be an option to add a moderator class, though I don't know the specifics since I don't have a group that I can test this on.  But, as you said, the help desk may be a better resource if you get stuck, though it'll likely take a few days for a response.

Yeah, I think I figured it out.  For some reason, I was thinking it was possible to add classes, but as I've looked around, I realized that you can only add the Moderator class and rename classes.  Thanks for the help!

How can I add a chat room to my group?

parallellogic In reply to EshTCP [2013-11-10 22:03:41 +0000 UTC]

As far as I know a chat room can not be added to a group.  You can create a chat room with a name that is similar to your group and then promote the chat room in your group.

How can folders make to only a specific member can upload it's devitations? For example: We have an Alter Story named folder, by the requesting of 1 member of mine, and let him only submit his drawings, poetry, ect.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to LordTchernobog [2013-08-28 04:08:01 +0000 UTC]

The only way to do that would be to use an admin class, like promote that one user to become a Contributor and then allow only Contributors to submit to that folder.

Hi,

What is the limit of folders you can have in a gallery?

For non-premium groups, i mean.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to Dattebayo681 [2013-08-06 09:17:27 +0000 UTC]

I think it may be 1,000 folders, but I don't specifically know (please tell me if you find out).  You can have 5,000 works of art in each folder.  Folder limits are the same for premium and standard groups as far as I know.

Dattebayo681 In reply to parallellogic [2013-08-06 10:39:44 +0000 UTC]

I remember while Googling it that I came across people who were complaining that they want more folders, and I recall someone saying something about the limit being 200...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to Dattebayo681 [2013-08-06 12:20:17 +0000 UTC]

That sounds a bit low, and it's possible the limit may have been changed at some point.  Best but would be to try it out.

For a reason I can't leave a comment on the log, to explain why deviation was declined, this message appears "Replies to the original deviant are not available for this type of message." :/ Any idea of what settings are wrong?

The founder can hide settings from lower admins in the group, so that is likely the case.

EratoTiaTuatha In reply to ??? [2012-12-18 14:09:19 +0000 UTC]

Hello :3 Can I have a question about groups? If I (admin) invite a deviation made by another deviant into the group, is it possible to control the expiration date for that submission for the author of the picture? From what I know, changing the "expires after" option for admins will only affect how much time I have to approve it, and changing this option for non-members would, obviously, only allow all deviants to submit :/ I'm asking because the deviations I add fill our message box quite quickly, and after a deviant doesn't decide on the submission for a few weeks it's likely that they won't do it at all. Still, I feel that withdrawing the submissions, causing those deviants to see a notification about it in their inboxes would be rude.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallellogic In reply to EratoTiaTuatha [2012-12-18 14:30:20 +0000 UTC]

That's an excellent question, and I'm not entirely sure. I don't see a setting for how long invites can sit unresolved, so I don't think it can be changed, it's probably set at 1 month expiration (please correct me if you have observed otherwise). I think you will be stuck removing old correspondence items by hand.

Unrelated: Have you noticed a limit on how many gallery invites you can send?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EratoTiaTuatha In reply to parallellogic [2012-12-18 17:48:07 +0000 UTC]

It would actually be just fine with me if they expired after a month, because that's the time limit we wanted anyway I wouldn't know because the oldest invite we have is only about 10 days old. I'll see what happens, and if you want I could get back to you so you could include it here or just be able to tell other deviants with a similar problem Thank you for your response anyway!

I haven't noticed a limit but whether there is one or not, there was no way I could've reached it. In my group we try to keep a maximum of 30 open invites and never had more than 35 at any given moment.

parallellogic In reply to EratoTiaTuatha [2012-12-18 18:40:17 +0000 UTC]

EratoTiaTuatha In reply to parallellogic [2012-12-24 23:20:48 +0000 UTC]

We've reached the expiration date! Turns out it was set to two weeks. Definitely a nice amount of time considering there is no way of changing it Hope this info helps someone

parallellogic In reply to EratoTiaTuatha [2012-12-24 23:27:20 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EratoTiaTuatha In reply to parallellogic [2012-12-24 23:38:55 +0000 UTC]

Yep, that's for submission invites only. I haven't been able to check if member invites expire as well, but if I ever have a chance to test that, I'll be happy to let you know about the outcome
