Description
My religious views have changed a bit since this stamp . I'm really not flatly an atheist. I've looked at pantheism. I started reading Cloud Atlas and that got me thinking about reincarnation and what happens to the energy we have after we die. Hell, I've even thought we're just in The Matrix. I just don't know. What I do know is: science has actually give us answers and progress.[link]

So then tell me, what is your evidence to prove all those previous things I mentioned have anything to do with faith, & how is science driven by faith?

How am I bothering you? Because I'm asking you for evidence? Gee, this is sounding like the very first time. Just tell me, do you have the evidence or not?

I would like to bring evidence, but if I told you, you just simply won't understand and might reject as a "assumption".

It's called evidence. If you have it, & know it's a fact & has fully been proven without a doubt, then give it. Clearly you're avoiding it because you know what you're going to tell me has been disproved by countless others.

That's because you know what you're going to tell me isn't true, given that it's been proven wrong various times. Otherwise you wouldn't keep delaying to answer me.

So I'll ask you one more time, otherwise I'm through wasting my time with you & your ignorance, & if you avoid answering me again I will know you don't have the answer (for a fact). What evidence do you have that faith actually did any of what I first asked you?

I am not ignorant.
You want evidence? Fine.
According to actual biblical worldview, science and mathematics are obviously the use and languages of himself of course in naturalism itself and without coming from the bible. There are a lot of amazing things that why other elements from the periodic table works perfectly in other verses. The bible also does clearly stated that God does make babies, and yes it does say that partners have sex with to make new babies, but again that's how it works. Good and right side and morality comes to God, and evil and wrong side and immorality comes to the Devil. Miracles, scientists are still testing and discovering that how are they even possible. No matter if they say they found it or not, it's still in debate.
The bible was also scientifically accurate, even way before some secular scientists have discovered, and the authors of every gospels are separate from other people to share other things or so but with God when writing, until the gospels were finished.
Astronomy
-Β Stars are innumerable (Genesis 22:17 ;Β Jeremiah 33:22 )
- Stars differ in glory (1 Corinthians 15:41 )
- Stars follow a predictable pattern (Jeremiah 31:35 )
-Β Earth is round, not flat (Isaiah 40:22 ;Β Psalm 103:12 )
-Β Earth hangs on nothing (not built on pillars) (Job 26:7 )
If you will be referring the verses where it says four pillars and four corners are most likely talking about the land or ground, not only just the planet all the time.
Geology
- Water cycle (Ecclesiastes 1:7 ;Isaiah 55:10 )
-Β Sea currents (Psalm 8:8 )
-Β βFountains of the deep broken upβ (Genesis 7:11 )
Biology
-Blood circulation (Leviticus 17:11 )
Not only God was the God of supernaturalism, but simply naturalism as well, and that we all know and see.
With science we have the how, but with religion we have the why.
Knowledge is a blessing and wisdom a virtue.Β
Ignorance is a curse and closed-mindedness a sin.
I hope this explains to you a lot.
Now, will it be kind of you if you please leave me in peace and let's stop this debate like now; would you please? It would smart and right for you to do that. Thank you.

I know this comment was old, but before you bash christianity, realize that you have no way to prove theres no God as well as no one can prove there is one. Therefore, you are no less of a moron for believing there is no God. There is "proof" that God exists through weird unexplainable things that science can't even find out yet. I'm not saying God DOES exist. I'm simply putting its not proven he doesn't.Β

Paraceratherium In reply to Featherdream [2015-11-14 22:43:55 +0000 UTC]
The earlier statement is less about bashing christianity and more about rejecting the ridiculous notion that god is male and has human-like attributes or in other words anthropomorphic. You can be christian and not believe in an anthropomorphic god. Since its considered omnipotent it can take on any form and just because it can take a male form doesn't necessarily mean that it IS "male".
Catholics (the bulk of christianity) don't believe in an anthropomorphic deity, a doctorine they share with Jews and Muslims. Mormons (who ARE NOT CHRISTIAN) actually believe in that preposterous concept. I don't value the input on the issue from pastors or evangelists whether spoken or written.
The male pronouns like "Him" or "He" in reference to god is more a matter of convention rather than inspired word. There are no gender-neutral words in Semitic languages like Hebrew or Arabic. By default, English words like "it" are translated with male pronouns in Hebrew. Most Semitic peoples are culturally patriarchial ie male dominated.
Abrahamist refers to anyone who practices Islam, Judaism, Christianity or any of its derivatives.

Science is a religion as well made out of trials and human errors and people wearing white are considered gods, the most popular ones being some Science Guy on TV and Black Science Man.
My favorite gods were Mengel and Niels Bohr, the latter helped created the kick-ass atomic bombs.

True, and I trust the facts that can be proven 100% without pointing to a specific belief (but I do acknowledge these laws can change or can have exceptions).Β I don't believe scientific theories for fact like some people do either. I've always wondered what the exceptions to to the law of gravity is. Any day, it could change. We really take our environment for granted.
I believe in absolute science, but, as humans, we can only get fragments of information since our means of understanding things is not perfect. So, I never take anything for 100% certain. Even if it's just a fragment in my mind, I always acknowledge I'm not capable of understanding truth.Β

AvelineBurkhart In reply to HitmonchanDA [2015-07-22 03:29:35 +0000 UTC]
This, this exactly, yes. I've never understood a human's drive to get recognized. Why would you though your values out the window to appeal to people? Isn't that an evolutionary disadvantage?
Scientists are so concerned with proving themselves right and looking high and mighty in front of an audience, that they basically loose their love of discovery and turn into philosophical debater about who's information is more valid. We see this in everyday society; look at the comments on this stamp. That's a great example.Β
No one can prove their beliefs 100%, no one. Just be tolerant of others and do what you love. You'll provide more to society that way.

God is always there, even if others turn Him away and the world becomes more chaotic as a result. He gave us free will after all. Β "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." God allows this chaos toΒ fulfillΒ His plans, one of which is waiting for the last believer to accept Christ so He can take allΒ believersΒ homeΒ beforeΒ the "rapture." At the rate things are going, we may live to see that day.Β

I like it when atheists claim that religious people are evil because they don't commit crimes because of "god". It's funny because to them good/evil are subjective concepts and atheists can be just as bad as theistic criminals, if not worse.

AvelineBurkhart In reply to HitmonchanDA [2015-07-24 20:51:44 +0000 UTC]
I agree. We all do't know anything for certain, and our morals have to be derived from something. All people can be good or bad, after all, what people perceive as good and bad can be completely different. At least religious people get the idea that they must have some accountability for their actions in order for their beliefs to be true. Unfortunately, a lot of people just use religion as an excuse to further their personal agendas. *Cough* Westboro *Cough*
