As the first day of classes had come to a close for the newly admitted Veea, (though known by to the public under the alias Brass Hoof) She had come to realize just what she had been missing when it came to private pony school. Although Veea had past knowledge of school when she had briefly lived in her hive, It was nothing like what she had known back then. There were no changeling history lessons on the value of allies and friendship (however new those classes may have been). These classes were teachings of pony history. Something that was starkly different from the changelings. It seemed like a lot more history than the changelings had to offer, and honestly? Much more than Veea wanted to learn.

And not only did she have to deal with the likes of deep rooted studying, she also had to deal with the harsh realities of pony life. Despite what the younger changelings had rumored on the school yard back in her younger years, ponies were much more cruel than she once thought. Even from those close to her age had egos that would rival kings and queens, spreading rumors and lies about anyone not close to their stature. It was disgusting to say the least, at least from the perspective of Veea. Though she had only the small bit of knowledge of what changeling schools were like, she knew for a fact King Thorax would never tolerate things like this in the schools the changelings had to offer.

Veea had tried to take the advice from her guardians, Spitfire and Sapphire, on how to behave in such an environment. Despite Veea's innate ability to change her form, she knew nothing on how to blend in personality wise. The only knowledge she had known was how to gain sympathy from those who she sought to gain something from. Though that skill most certainly wouldn't work here. She had decided to keep quite and just observe from the sidelines on just what others in her classes would do. Though this helped her gain a bit of insight on what to do for the future, this did not get her a pair of hooves to stand on as far as her image going into senior year. She had already been known throughout the tabloids as a 'mysterious filly staying with Pony of Pop Sapphire Shores and Retired Captain Spitfire', and staying silent in her classes wasn't helping her 'mystery' any.

Throughout the day she would find herself being the subject of many conversions of those who she passed in the hallways. Not much caring is she had actually heard them or not. Mares wondering who she was, giggling about whether or not she could even be considered a mare at all. Stallions making snide remarks on whether or not they'd gain anything from 'smashing that'. Though, something that really got her blood boiling was those who had brought up those very tabloids that thought it important to snoop in on her, and her guardian's lives. One such stallion had been doing such a thing all day. In class, in the hallway, to anyone who'd listen. The son of Neon Lights, Back Beat.

You see, Back Beat had a nasty habit of bringing up any relevant topic he could to garner any attention at all. And with the likes of a new student that just so happen to not only be the scandal of the school but ALSO the scandal of Canterlot? He of course couldn't help but spread even more of what was said around. It, of course, helped that he hapened to be in nearly half the classes as the new student.

As the day went on, so would Beat. Every moment he could, he'd grab the attention of those just as curious as he was, and just continue his blabbering. This... this utterly enraged Veea. Every word. Every sentence that exited the mouth of the stallion only put a little more flare to the fire. Though, as she made her way to her next class, it all came to a head as she heard that sickening voice in a not so subtle whisper.

"Did you hear about that mare that's been hiding out in the Shore's house?" he'd mutter, continuing on about the topic until the poor listener's ear fell off.

Though, that time wouldn't come to pass as Veea had finally had enough. With the mention of her name for the umpteenth time, she couldn't keep her calm any longer. With the last mention of her name, she made her way over to the taller stallion and gave a glare that rivaled Commander Pharynx. Trying to keep in mind the advice given to her by her guardian Spitfire, she tried to keep as level head as possible when chewing out her victim.

"Do you ever not have that sudden urge to let your idiocy slip?" She said with a sneer plastered to her muzzle.

This caught Beat off guard as his head jerked back a smidge in surprise. "...w...what?" he said, trying not to let his surprise show through in his tone either, though failing in the long run.

"I said, is it possible to keep your annoying trap shut for one minute about people's business you have no right being in?" She said, her sneer turning up in a rage filled smile.

Beat didn't know what to say. Though he had been told to shut up a few times in the past, he had never been confronted like this. He took a step back only for Veea to take a step forward.

"Oh so now you decide to grace us with your silence? How nice." she said with a sickeningly sweet smile, only for it to turn into that same sharp glare as before.

"Do me a favor. Make sure to keep that kindness going. Keep my name out of that disgusting mouth of yours and mind your own fucking business." she said, letting out a huff of disapproval, only to turn away from the stallion and walk away to her now late class, leaving the bewildered Beat standing amongst the laughing audience.
