Traces of summer have well and truly ended, on a reccie to a new part of Dartmoor I was faced with some gale force winds and defiantly not what I would call balmy conditions. Although the northwestern moor is unprotected it does feature some spectacular vistas and it's certainly one area I will be focussing on in the next few months.

ahh the allsorts man....if you move a little further to your right the rocks resemble the liqourice allsorts man from the advert....big blown highlights spoil this for me,...

The light was to fleeting for me to notice... but I will return for another look. I don't think the highlights disrupt this image that much, considering the sun was behind high cloud a sunstar wasn't possible.

Well I do believe I see an oak tree covered in leaves in the distance....

Really nice Guy, something a little bit different. Shame about the highlight though. Incidentally I have a shot from the opposite direction to this and so does Adam Burton (his image was the DNPA choice in LPOTY a couple of years ago) [link]

There certainly more shots to be had around this area, I couldn't help myself shooting the 'rabbit' and Irishmans wall but by then the light had gone. I would love to return in winter and also get down into the valley.
