Description
ImageFirst sunrise of the trip...deffinatly worth getting up for. One big problem =Alex37 and myself spoke about was ending up with the same images as we would be shooting the same locations and conditions so we decided to split so I dropped Alex off down by river Etive and I went on to Rannoch Moor about 3 miles away.
I trudged through endless bogs to get to a high point to shoot this image, as the sun broke through and lit up the mist it was an unbelievable scene.
Location
Rannoch Moor, Glen Coe, Scotland

Equipment
Nikon D70 | Sigma 70-300 APO | focal length 300mm | ISO200 | f/11 | 1/320s | Manafrotto 055PROB tripod + 141RC tilt pan head

Absolutely beautiful. I love the layering of the hills in the background.

I can imagine. I just wish the weather would cooperate with me more often. Grey and wet again today. Sigh...

Haha - well, this is true. I suppose there's room for grey-on-grey drama. Once I get exams out of the way, I'm going to take some time to shoot. Night shots are on the agenda I think!

Well then, give me a few weeks and I'll try to indulge your weak spot!

The mist has just right denseness here -- thick enough to hide the details, sparse enough to reveal some shapes, creating the right mood.
Awesome catch!

I might agree with you there, but I used a bubble level ontop of my camera to prevent that

I love the combination of elements in this picture, the reflection of the rocks in the water and the little river that seems to split two contrasting environments, one's in hilly mists and one's flat grassland. That's pretty cool.

I do wish I drove further up the road, because there was so many more opportunities there if the light was the same
