Description Baked result of sulking man. [link]
Cracks are the result of getting lucky with poor quality clay.

Suggestions on how to take care of the white stains will be very much appreciated.

I like the white, it follows the mood nicely if you ask me. It's like not only disintegrating, but losing color as well

I've never thought of it that way.
Thanks for that alternative approach.

Yes, mistakes are the best of sources... the tricky part is to find a way to control them, and to force them in the right direction... And then there's, as you've noticed, the problem, with succesful mistakes, to reproduce them in the exact same way...

Nice outcome!

Indeed, this is not replicable. It's verrry unique.
Hey, you've just raised the value.

Thank you.
The title serves as a warning in an attempt to control my own sulking

I too like this look, cracks and all. (Wondering if you left armature material inside when you basque baked?) And also let me know why those white deposits appear (I get them too). Barrie

It's made with waterbased clay, and baked at 1000°C. No armature possible.
The reason of the cracks is really a poor quality clay and not tension between an armature and baking clay. Everyone in my class that used this batch of clay ended up with broken pieces. Some didn't even make it to the oven. I was the lucky one, hehe.
A lot of sculptures at DA are made with polymer clay that can be baked at much lower temperarures and with the preservation of the armature. I'm planning to use that technique in the near future.

Those white deposits bother me, to be honest, and I'm not sure where they come from. I suppose it's lime from the water. Perhaps caused by the use of a waterspray?

Lime makes sense, most of my deposits come off just using a water rinse and mild brushing - but, on some pieces, I think the white deposits are interesting. Barrie

Thanks.
The cracks aren't intentional, but I'm quite pleased with them.
