So... what exactly is the fandom's obsession with "Inuyasha's sister"? It's practically become some sort of cult following, of the sort, "Even though we never see her, she MUST exist!!!11" I mean, WTF? With all the Sister!Sues out there, it would seem like Inu-papa was the biggest manwhore in all of Japan. Not to mention a majority of them are younger sisters, meaning either Inu-papa was a cheating bastard, or Izayoi got the hankerin' for extra youkai-lovin' after he died.All of the Sister!Sues in this image are based off of actual Sue descriptions in fanfiction. A search of fanfiction.net for "Inuyasha's sister" returns about 300 results of fics submitted within the past WEEK. I didn't brave all of them. In fact, I only got through those half dozen before my brain fried. Among them were a girl who was both Inuyasha AND Kouga's sister, meaning Inu-papa had to boink Kouga's mom. And a girl who was 3/4 cat demon, despite Inu-papa being her father. And a blonde hanyou from the modern era, meaning that Inu-papa somehow traveled to the future and shagged an American. The list goes on... x___x
Inu-papa gets multiple letters a week on his column inquiring about Inuyasha's mysterious sister. Either that or it's someone claiming to be his long-lost daughter. I mean... isn't that a little insulting to go up to a guy and demand that you know more about his family and sex life than he does?

The sister confusion, i beleive, was started when pictures of the episode with the little hanyou girl, that i have to say looked a lot like him, came out before the episode was translated and available, online or on tv/dvd.

The girl actually turned out to be the daughter of some vampire bat like demon clan's man and a human mom, thus the hanyou girl. She was really cute, and she did look like inu quite a bit, when you didn't know about the episode in question, so i think poeple just liked the idea of a younger sister as cute as that...
First time i saw her picture, someone was claiming that the episode was about inuyasha finding his younger sister, thent he episode was fan translated and i saw it and saw how horribly mistaken the person was.
She helps inuyasha get red tetsaiga, but she is not related to him in anyway. And later on, a movie with inuyasha's father came out, and where we see his father die soon after inuyasha is born. There for, no younger siblings possible, since he's been dead ever since.

A lot of storys have simialar plots... romantic comedys all have the same plot but they are just told a different way. Girl meets guy. Girl falls for guy. Guy dumps/makes girl cry. Girl leaves. Guy realizes he loves girl. Guy apologizes to girl. Guy and girl lives happliy ever after. Besides its fun hunting for the gems and making fun of the bad ones.

Yes, sometimes it's fun repeating plotlines, but the thing with InuYashas sister is just annoying everyone in the fandom (or atleast those people who have a bit of sense and brains). I can't even laugh about the bad ones anymore because there are so many of them. They're one of the reasons I stopped reading IY fanfics years ago.

I'm tired of things like that also. I have a long list of "NO"s for Inuyasha fandom also. I hate Inuyasha yaoi, made up sisters for Inuyasha or Sesshomaru, and stories or pictures with peoples OC characters dating any of the Inuyasha characetrs.

I went for an older sister for Sesshoumaru too. I even took a little time to concoct a relatively plausible explanation for her absence from canon as well as that of their mother. But a well thought out "Sue" is a Sue nonetheless. I made no attempts at fan-fiction save for a few short-lived forays into RPG forums.

I have to admit that I'm guilty of it too, but I have come to hate those stories for the same reasons. I think people think about the ating cycle of dogs. They aren't exactly faithful to their females or males, however I don't think a great lord like Inu-taisho or Sesshomaru are running about pimping.

inu-papa died the day inuyasha was born (third movie told meh so!) o.O mabee his goast was out partying while his wife had inuyasha? O.o oiy thats scary. goasty manwhore? O.O or theres always the reincarnation theory. seeing as he must have landed in the future somehow to make that one sue?

i think its more likely Izayoi was the one makeing sues with her being alive and all
oh and i found this intresting (acording to myoga) since inu papa died on the day inu chan was born. counting inuyashas 50 years on the tree inuyasha is 500 years old! O.o very few people seem to realize this (although i think its hard to beileve it. seeing as 500 years wasnt long enough for inuyasha to become mature acting x.x)

I was making a fanfic but you see it i got the idea from the third movie and was like what if izoyi gave birth to a girl when inu was born and well she gave up her daughter to one of the villiges near by and you see one of the viligers who take her in and tell her the truth and wat not.so she begins her journey to find inuyasha

I've heard the same thing about Inuyasha and Kagome's daughter, except people are saying it in the anime. I wish people would look at the characters and think up ideas that are condusive to the personalities, not changeing the characters to fit their own fantasies. XD The sister thing cracks me up, though. I mean... if you wanna introduce a girl half-breed, by all means do it, but don't relate them to the main characters. XD Anyway, excellent work here.

Yes, for a whole, I did have an "Inuyasha's sister(s)" storyline thing going, and I thought I was all original with it and whatnot.
And then I got tired of the story and had Sesshoumaru kill one of them and Naraku kill the other one. Thank you, Gorgeous Evil Male Leads!

Heh, "Inu-papa" is something he was called by the Japanese cast, since the character was never given an official name. It's just sort of spread to the fandom (though, admittedly, *Devikuro and I were the ones who started spreading it)
