Size: 65-95cm tall in the shoulders, 120-190cm from snout to tail-base + 10-15cm long tail = 130-205cm from snout to tail.

Description: The name of this bear, comes from the whitish markings on their chests, like that of a sloth bear, shaped like a V, moon bears are similar and closely related to their better known American cousins, black bears, but their built is more brown bear like, due to their ears a lot more round. Although they looked more carnivorous than black bears, but actually more as herbivorous as giant pandas, moon bears are aggressive to humans who hunt and trapped them for traditional medicine. Moon bears' front-quarters are powerful than their hindquarters, so this makes these bears, excellent climbers. Even the bear with a broken hind legs can still climb trees. They can walk upright over a quarter mile, makes them the most bipedal bears known. They lived in the Himalayas, Indian subcontinents, northeast China, Russian Far East, Taiwan, and some parts of Japan. Mother bears can protect their pups from tigers, leopards, wolves, dholes, and even lynxes(which lynxes are threats to the bear pups). Brown bears and tigers can prey upon the moon bears, but the moon bears can dominate the leopards. Brown bears can eat the food that's dropped by moon bears, because they are too big and heavy to climb trees. Moon bears prefer to avoid the tigers' attacks. Poachers can hunt the bears for their paws, skin, and gall-bladders. Even bear bile farming, can make captive bears treated as farm animals, but it is more animal cruelty, used for their gallbladders. People who are not poachers can protect the bears from the hunters, which moon bears are listed as vulnerable, but some are endangered species.
