The royal life has made him extremely power hungry. He sees himself as superior to every other pony, including his half sister, Flurry Heart. However, he is jealous of his half sister's wings and believes that he deserves the power and popularity that comes with being an Alicorn Princess. He is constantly plotting schemes that will get rid of his half-sister and, consequentially, name him the heir to the kingdom. These plans never, EVER work.
