I watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens.. LOVED IT, way better than I even imagined! Β This was the early stages of my Star Wars fan art I'm working on, but this scene won't be used anymore, I've redrawn the scene. I thought Kylo Ren looked off, with him blocking a strike rather than attacking, it makes the scene less threatening. Even tho he's blocking, it still feels in character to me, like he's still looks a good amount of intimidating,
How I'm viewing it is Finn went in for a strike but Kylo blocked it in time and now they're in a power struggle, and looks like Ren is winning with Finn being pushed back by brute strength.
It's really cool!

There's more! Yay! For this one, if you want to make the man providing defense appear under attack, but remaining calm and collected, I would add strain on the other parts of the face instead of the mouth. Add some sweat, gritting teeth or a bulging temple vein. Less is more with these sorts of action perspectives.

I think reversing the hands might've made the arms look a little less awkward. I'm a fan of this version of the piece, but the final is also really amazing. KudosΒ

I usually really like your drawing, but this one has really big mistake. The way Finn and Kylo Ren hold theirs lightsabers is really bad. In this position, Kylo Ren would probebly cut off his own hand by the crossguard and if he hold it correctly (crossguard pointed to Finn), he would cut off Finns hands, because they are not protected by anything. I know that it is really hard to draw nice looking action scene, but I am really annoyed by scene withΒ nonsensical choreography and SW 7 was full of it.

The Force is totally a rehash of the first story but I found it enjyable too, I stepped in waiting to be dissapointed and I was not. It's totally a marketing ploy and a useless episode but it was good I'd say.
