Description 8x11 pencil art for a project ( and company)that unfortunately went under. Same with the previous illustration.
I was going to work this one up more once scanned, but what's the point ... hope it looks good enough as a straight scan

I was gonna tell ya I colored some of DW Miller work. Working on more, but only do in colored pencils. Not talented enough to use PAINT lol. I just make a mess of everything. Thought you may want to check them out? NOTHING like your work.

they're really good for colored pencils- ever try markers with them? or thin acrylics wash underneath them? I used to do a lot of illos that way before the computer came along

I have never tried any of those, well I do sometimes use gel pens with them, but I have to download them on regular paper at work LOL, I have some Armando Huerta stuff I have colored that looks really good, but afraid to post them, if you know what I mean, and sure wouldn't want to make anyone mad. They turned out really well. I have never heard of acrylic wash, what is that? Not real art savvy LOL sorry

Acrylic wash is just thinned out acrylic, like a watercolor- you would establish your base color, flat, painted really thin, and then model it out with the colored pencils.  this avoids having to cover the white of the page and spend alot of time with the pencils filling in. Use a 2 ply bristol paper or smooth watercolor paper, or illustration board.

Cool, I may have to try that. I hate not knowing stuff to use to color. As old as I am you'd think I should know. I used to draw MANY YEARS ago. Did not really know how to shade. Started driving Big Rigs for about 15 years, and stopped drawing. Recently was injured while working a different job, and started coloring for therapeutic reasons, and really dig it. So all the help I can get is really appreciated. Paul once again thanks for your time and comment.

Very cool, simple design. The face really dominates the focus of the picture. Maybe ease up on the arm veins next time, they are a bit to pronounced and symmetrical. Otherwise it's great!

Very nice, sense of action and power mixed with majesty. Sort of, 'You thought we were all about harps and singing?'
