Description After seeing the amazingly bad/anatomically impossible Power Girl cover by Mike Turner last week, I jumped at the chance to submit a costume re-design for the "Draw Power Girl" meme.

I wanted to work with the same requirements the actual Power Girl costume has; she's a large breasted woman, keeping the same basic color scheme, and the idea of the "hole" area on her chest awaiting a symbol to measure up to her hero; Superman. I worked to incorporate all these elements, while trying to also not make the costume an excuse to show off her boobs and butt. I also wanted to make the costume functional for a character who would be hitting and doing strenuous physical feats, who also didn't want her breasts to fall out and her butt to be a constant source of fan service wankery.

I'm pretty happy with the results.

Hokay... that suit is just awesome. Really neat design, still in keeping with Power Girl, yet not just a random overdose of T&A. The thing is, when the Power Girl comic series started, I actually liked the character. She was sarcastic, strong, well-intentioned, and very emotionally powerful. Unfortunately, she was also trapped in a tiny costume that spilled out her 'assets' and was given an increasingly anatomically impossible frame. Your version just screams everything right about Power Girl. She doesn't have a symbol because she hadn't really thought of one yet, she looks physically powerful, yet you can still see where the outfit draws inspiration from her 'father' (Kal-L). Very nice indeed.

Thank you. I think she has lots of solid potential, but keeps getting tossed into the "T&A" category.

'Tis sad. If DC ever bothered to pull her OUT of that category, they could have a really winning character. But they won't, so she'll stay a second-rate sex symbol for eternity. What a waste.

Congrats.
I hate Powergirl's regular costume and I think it's stupid when artist try to show a woman's boobs and butt in the same picture.

You're a godsend for all the female comic readers of the world. You understand that strong female characters don't have to be extremely overtly sexual. I love this costume, it's so incredibly practical and I love that all the things that make it pretty are part of the suit as a whole. Plus she's beating the tar out of that thing.

Thanks very much. Trust me, being married to a smart, strong comic creating woman makes me all the more want to see stupid sexism at least be discouraged (I fear it will never go away) to make females actually WANT to read comics without having to feel like it's a immature boys club.

Thanks much! I had a great time doing more "color holds" on the interior line work to soften up her musculature. When I had the lines of her muscles in black, they looked too defined and "mannish".

That's always fun. Lately I've been too lazy to color the lines in my pictures, it's okay though

Definatly cant have a woman looking too "mannish"
