Description
Bronx ZooD70 70-300mm lens
This might possibly be my favorite picture I took yesterday, this is one of the two sisters who live at the Bronx Zoo's tiger exhibit. I didn't catch the name, shame on me. Both her and her sister are absolutely stunning. I watched them for about a half hour, then came back. and I'm lucky I did because the second time around is when I got this picture. There will be a few more of this girl and her sister forthcoming.
low light conditions restricted the shots that I could get. also this was shot through glass. oh the joy of zoos.
This girl is an Amur (or Siberian) Tiger. for more information on these very endangered animals go to: [link]

TIGERS!! Gotta love 'em, totally fun to shoot. Great capture, totally understand what you're saying about the luck of coming back around to the exhibit a second time.
But I must say...I think Waldemere from the Denver zoo has her beat in the looks department...
Have you been to the National Zoo in DC to see the tigers there??...they have quite a few very pretty ones.

I havent actually. I do agree about the Denver Zoo tigers, they're beautiful, but their exhibit is not that great to photograph in. I personally like the St. Louis Zoo and Phili to get tiger pictures

I've been to the philli zoo, but I've never had the chance to go to the one in St. Louis. But DC did a great job in terms of making exhibits that were easy for photographers to take pictures...they're very open with lots of light. And they have the money to have a larger number of animals in each exhibit, so I think there were...5 tigers when I went last time. Tons of fun.
The one exhibit I hate photographing at at the Denver zoo is the lions. Talk about a pain in the ass.
