Description
Okay, this drawing is over a year old. I did it with Crayola pencils on 110# paper, which I have found Crayolas to just love. Smooth paper + Crayolas = Happy! Now, why did I submit this if it's so old? I'm planning to re-vamp Cleo soon, and I just want you guys to see the old version. But, this isn't even the oldest Cleo drawing! See the original here: www.deviantart.com/peachfuzz/a… You can see that I chucked the clumsy head-dress and cape, in exchange for a dainty tiara-thing. You can bet that I will make even more changes when I redraw her this time!
Critique discouraged, as this isn't a recent example of my work. If you feel like critiquing me, come visit my gallery. *shameless self-promotion*

The thing I love best about this drawing is Cleo's face. She has the best, sweetest looking face!
And I love her tail with the lone orange spot on it X)

Thanks! I was really proud of this when I drew it, but it doesn't look very good to me anymore. I still like the lineart, but the coloration-! Very solid and bright, like I enjoy, but NO SHADING WHATSOEVER! At least I try, now.

I still think it looks good, even if it doesn't have that much shading...I really like the kitty face!

Woah, it's amazing what a year can do, isn't it? I mean, look here:
The difference between that and [link] is very large.
You've gon from that picture with a very cartoony ABSOLUTLY NO SHADING style, to a much more realistic colour style. With a much more blended look, and lots of shading! (except for the character...
) And the plants, those have made an incredible improvement. I mean, look at those trees, then [link] or [link]
Indeed, what a difference a year can make
Heh, just pointing out the obvious, don't mind me...

No character shading?! I try, oh how I try! I actually have some ideas to help my character shading. It will increase contrast, too. I'm going to try it soon. Maybe on my new version of Cleo? I have it partially sketched now.
At least I TRY to shade now! It hadn't even occured to me back then. I might as well have been clicking the "fill" option on a computer paint program. Hey, this will be the first time anybody will have seen poor Cleo shaded!
You notice that I still use the same basic leaf shape for palm trees? That hasn't changed. It's pure shading that's making the difference. Must... Shade... MORE!

Egypt! I'm finishing up a sketch-ish almost character sheet thing of one of my characters that's Egyptian. xD Can't wait to see her revamped! I love how you still have these bright colors.

Even in my very first drawing book (Long before I thought of Cleo), I always used bright colors. I just LOVE them!
Hey, I want to see your Egyptian character! Tell me when it's up and I'll be pleased to take a look, okay?

I draw pretty slow, but I hope to have the new version done by the end of this week.
They need a "cling" emoticon...

If I knew how to animate emoticons, I would make one! It would show one emote spontaneously jump-clinging onto another, and it would say, "You been CLINGED!" Uh... Clung? Clingered? Clikjdfioweuo0ifhg?
