Description
The library removed the scanners! I suck with my camera! And this town hasn't seen sun in weeks! So yay crappy image. Done with my usual Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pens.Anyhow. This is my entry for the current contest over at #pokedorks : Pokemon Formes.
Solrock Eclipse Forme and Lunatone Eclipse Forme
- They take on this Forme while holding an Eclipsolith
- Become Dark/Rock type
- Attack, Special Attack, and Speed rise by 50%
- Defense and Special Defense fall by 50%
- Psychic-type attacks retain all characteristics (damage, accuracy, etc.) but become Dark-type
Important News Flash!
"Hello, everyone! Gabby here, interviewing Professor Cozmo from Fallarbor Town in Hoenn regarding the recent eclipse event that had people all around the world terrified. Three weeks ago, we all waited excitedly to view a rare solar eclipse. During this event, trainers with Solrock or Lunatone were horrified as their Pokemon took on a new, sinister-looking Forme! Professor Cozmo, tell us more."
"Thank you, Gabby. It wasn't just trainers' Solrock and Lunatone... My entire research team of professionals and students ran screaming out of Meteor Falls cave when the wild ones in that area suddenly transformed! I admit, I was very shocked, too."
"What kind of research was your team doing in there, Professor Cozmo?"
"We were studying the distribution and types of meteorites within the cavern, as usual. It's very interesting because they appear to have been transported inside by the running water that flows through the cave. We're exploring the cave further and investigating the source of the water with hope of finding the original landing site of the meteorites."
"You said you had more information about this new Forme of Solrock and Lunatone, Professor Cozmo?"
"Correct, Gabby! You see, while the meteorites within Meteor Falls have been the focus of my research for a long time, there are other interesting types of rocks there. Many years ago, I found the first of what turned out to be a rare and somewhat unusual type of rock. Like the meteorites, this type of rock was also brought into Meteor Falls cave by the running water."
"That's interesting, Professor Cozmo, but what does it have to do with the recent eclipse and the strange transformation of the Solrock and Lunatone?"
"Ah, please allow me to explain, Gabby! Aside from the depositional nature of these particular rocks, I could not find anything interesting about them except that they gave off a weak but unusual type of radiation. After some research, I determined that this radiation was not harmful to people. Because the focus of our research was the source of the meteorites and these rocks did not appear to come from space, we had been ignoring them for quite some time..."
"Have you learned anything new about these rocks since the eclipse, Professor Cozmo?"
"Yes, Gabby, and that's why we're here today! You see, during the eclipse, instruments at the Weather Institute on Route 119 and the Space Center in Mossdeep City detected some unusual but non-harmful radiation. After hearing about this on the news-"
"I remember covering that story!"
"Yes, Gabby, that was you. Anyhow, after hearing about it on the News, I called a colleague of mine at the Weather Institute and determined that the radiation which covered the Earth during the eclipse was exactly the same as the radiation emitted by those strange rocks in Meteor Falls."
"Wow, Professor Cozmo! What does it all mean?"
"For whatever reason, these particular rocks- which I have termed Eclipsoliths- permanently emit the same type of radiation associated with the solar eclipse. I have determined that Solrock and Lunatone assume a different Forme in response to this radiation, the same Forme which startled myself and my team during the eclipse and started a worldwide panic. We're calling it their 'Eclipse Forme'."
"Oh, so that is why Solrock and Lunatone got all scary-looking, Professor Cozmo?"
"Correct, Gabby! Nothing to be afraid of. It's no different than Deoxys changing Formes."
"How does a trainer go about acquiring an Eclipsolith if they want their Solrock or Lunatone to be in Eclipse Forme, Professor Cozmo?"
"Well, Gabby, Eclipsoliths are fairly rare, and we do not want to risk harming the fragile ecosystem of Meteor Falls..."

Thank you! I've never seen the word "epic" applied to unpopular ol' Solrock and Lunatone this often, so I feel like I must have done something right. :'D

Glad you like it! I'm currently raising a Lunatone and I'd totally give it an Eclipsolith to put it in this Forme if that was real.
