Description Happy early St. Patrick's Day! Bellsprout and Petilil apparently found some gigantic clovers to play in. Made with Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pens.

It's been raining cats and dogs here! For a few minutes, a bit of diffuse sunlight appeared, so I grabbed my camera and took a ton of shots. After some level tinkering and whatnot, I suppose this doesn't look bad. Just not nearly as great as the real thing. I used a limited palette (purple/green/yellow for most of the piece + bits of pink and brown for details) to give the entire piece a luminous unity of color, but you can't really tell from the image.

I want a scanner. ;___;

Hahah those greens you used are so pretty! It's also kinda funny because you're not using a scanner but it really looks like you are!

Thanks. I guess the image here on DA is less maddening when you didn't spend hours staring at the original.

Thank you. Prismacolor markers have a butt-load of greens to choose from, but I used as few as possible and relied instead on mixing with yellow and purple to keep all the green things distinct from one another. The clover leaves have a lot more hue/value variety in person.

Nice. That's a great technique. I learned in painting how many weird colors there really are in an object--nothing green is actually just green. So much red and blue in a tree! It's too bad scanners are so lame and we can't see all the RL intricacies.

Totally. I wish I'd figured that out earlier in my artistic history. Currently I'm pretty stuck on purple and yellow for my main mixing colors, though, so I need to keep experimenting.

There's always somethign new to learn, and the best way to learn is by playing!
