Description
"It's only been in the past few years that the battered male syndrome has gotten serious attention. The latest percentage of battered men was placed at approximately 36% or roughly 835,000 of the 2.3 million abuse cases reported yearly. Researchers believe that those figures are far from accurate for the obvious reason that most men are very reluctant to admit they have been victims of abuse."Just like how I oppose male rape. I find that the fact nearly no males ever come forward during abuse just sad and depressing.
Women are always the ones that are raped, beaten, hurt, sexually harassed, and depicted as victims on the news. When men are so ashamed they don't ever want their name and face shown after those things happen.
Not saying females don't suffer, but I am saying men don't get much slack or comfort -if any- when they're the victim.
-
In some societies females are feeling more and more empowered and much like some races and ethnicities they are indulging so much in the rights they've got they can push things too far. We want equality not females making men suffer for all the years they were repressed, we want equality not Jews slaughtering Germans for the past, just like we want equality not African Americans enslaving Americans for what was done to their ancestors.
If we simply act like vengeance-craving dogs we'll become what we hate. If the tables are turned then the cycle's just going in reverse.

Also, a soap opera here in Brazil where there were two couples where a man abused his wife and another one where the women abused her husband just as badly just ended.
The male abuser went to prison and the female abuser magically became good at the end, even though if she was a man, he'd be 100% irredeemable.

I really don't get why it's overlooked when it's a male figure.
We're all human, so it shouldn't matter. It's still the same.

I can understand what you're saying. To be honest, the existence of such stamps like this one saddens me greatly. We need to label ourselves specifically with a stamp to tell others that we're against human rights violations. That's honestly pathetic. Not bashing on you or the stamp; I'm just a bit pissed that society has fucked up so much that a stamp like this is necessary.

I've heard many stories where a man was the victim of abuse/rape and in a lot of cases, especially when the perpetrators are female, they are either not taken seriously by anyone or THEY are accused because they're expected to be the stronger ones in society. It makes me froth with anger, I think that every victim, no matter their gender, should be helped and have their cases looked into instead of being dismissed because of bullshit like this.
Abuse knows no gender.

Who is PRO abuse of men? By anyone? Most abused men are abused BY OTHER MEN, but that doesn't mean other abusers aren't female. Who said that it did? Most abuse of women is done by men and most abuse of men is done by men. Women can and do abuse men and women, but it isn't nearly as pressing a problem throughout every town and state and country right now as is abuse by men of women.Β

I don't have my good sources here right now, but male/male couples actually have the lowest rate of domestic abuse. Here's a link to a study, though! www.advocate.com/crime/2014/09β¦

This stamp was made after a few encounters with people who think beating men is funny and that all women should "put men in their place".Β
It made me remember how many women I had seen pro/for smacking a man about.
The comments cover everything pretty well.Β

My parents had a neighbor that was getting beaten up by his wife. He would wear sunglasses to hide his black eyes and he always had bruises.
The worst thing was that he was a muscular guy, he COULD defend himself, but he didn't wanted to hurt her...
Faving this stamp.

True and also, i was wondering why this problem are overlooked, now, i know the answer...
people who said "but men can defend themself, they are strong", if they live in the reality, they should know that not all of them are automatically, and yes, they deserves the same help than women.

This is why I'm suspicious around them. Not to be mean, but isn't it already being showed enough in the United States? I feel like they'recomplaining about EVERYTHING. We even had a "Leggings Rebellion" because of girls wearing them inappropriately, so they called ever girl to the gym and had a lecture about dressing decently. Even the principal stated that you could wear them as long as they were covered up well (she was wearing them herself!) Why aren't there more in countries that actually NEED female rights, like the Middle East?

I'm a feminist, and I would beat the shit out of anyone who thinks it's cool to just abuse people, regardless of gender.Β
I can't speak for all feminists, but I can tell you people can make dumb choices that make the other person invisible / a joke.Β
Feminism is founded by the sole belief that both genders are equal to each other, so I really couldn't tell you "I feelΒ females are moreΒ important then anyone because of mistreatment" because it would go against most of what feminism really is.

It's so hard for them because they thinkΒ they are right on all points, it's people like them with their "only woman can be victims" who's made myself ashamed, sure, most of them are victims, but men are not an exception of abuse, those who said the opposite don't want to face the world.

People want to say men are "tougher" but that's actually a role forced on men, if they aren't tough they're not manly. The truth is men don't often have a good support system and they need to be supported through tough times.
The way people treat men is wrong most of the time.
Agreed.

It's really nice to see someone sticking up for the opposite gender, especially since females have gotten more oppression throughout history. Despite being treated inferior to men most of the time, some females out there are still willing to defend men. I commend you and everyone who agrees with this stampΒ Β
I want everyone to be treated equally too :/ I've always supported girl power and can't stand it when my male classmates in school make fun of girls.

I totally agree with you.
Men can be in the same situation as women are too with domestic abuse. Like with women getting raped are the only ones that come out being raped, hurt, beaten, Sexually harassed, and depicted as victims in news while men are not in the news since they are so ashamed for what happened that they do not want to be on the news it's so sad and depressing that they are not coming out saying that they are abused too.
Even in a domestic abuse situation that they are too afraid and frightened of telling anyone that they are being abused at home, since they are afraid that the woman that is abusing him is making him shut out and avoid it. Even along with Females too.Β
Both are victims, females and males.Β
Females get much slack and comfort.
While men don't get much slack and comfort.Β

There's a lack of emotional support for males, people think they are "tougher" and stuff, but really they're not. Everyone has feelings.
