Officer Lili Wu takes some time away from hunting for that ninja to beat the everliving criminality right out of a punching bag. That curious anti-ninja propaganda poster isn't helping her mood, I imagine.I finally got to work on this, in keeping with the results of the first Oracle Sword character art poll - [link] which Wu won by a pretty big margin. If she's not careful she's gonna kick that bag right off the chain! Seems that ninja girl REALLY got to her. Well hopefully next time she'll get a bit of pay back on her for it. Certainly is a fight I'd like to see. Especially if they somehow ended up falling into a pool. That's mysteriously filled with lime green Jell-O.

I suspect Wu doesn't like people she can't catch. And Miyuki did kill Elliot Chow, although no one seems to miss him, least of all the police. Could be, too, that a ninja stole her sneakers.
Lime Jell-O, you say? I don't think we can allow that unless their both wearing bikinis. It's a safety issue, or at least that's the story I'm sticking with.

Actually bikinis are more than what I was think they'd have on but they're certainly a good start. Should a string or two happen to get cut or pulled I don't think any of the spectators would mind at all.

This makes me want to draw some of my characters I never really draw (poor Duran) but then I think I should just draw them in a comic instead
I really like the impact on punching bag (kicking bag?) the blur and subtle jags in the shading give a nice sense of force.
...also I bet she knows my dad, for some reason anytime I met the offspring of an SFPD officer they ask me “is your dad a nurse at the jail? my dad knows your dad then!"

You could always do a quick character poll before your membership runs out. If I had the time to put together a good comic I'd rather do that, but I really don't. Also weren't you working on a genre fiction challenge? and a final nude Rio?
I wasn't going to add any blur originally, but it looked a little too static otherwise. It's a funny thing about straight leg kicks, if you look up Muay Thai kicks on Google images (like you might if you were going to draw this picture) a lot of them look like they weren't moving at all, even when it's clear they had to be.
That makes a fair amount of sense, the police are pretty fraternal, generally speaking. That, and San Francisco is really like a small town - I'm always meeting people who are a friend of a friend or relative, or know me from somewhere, which seems like a statistical impossibility out of nearly a million people.

I could do a poll but most of my watchers don’t read a damn thing I say and only pay attention to the nudity pages of the comics, so the poll would either have to be short discriptions (‘werewolf girl’ ‘grim reaper’ ‘fat bruce campbelle’ ‘slutty mummy’ ‘knock-off candlejack’ ‘pyrokinetic girl’ ‘eye patch girl’ ‘frankenstien’ ‘wolfman’) or I’d get random votes for ‘other’ with the comment “draw Rio and maybe the blonde one naked” or some weird really elaborate plot for a 50 page graphic novel they want drawn for free...
also I am working on that genre challenge... so time consuming! (but so worth it! although cheated on box 10, it’s not a new genre so much as a stylistic change.) I just need to finish Western and I’m done. Maybe it’ll be up in a few hours.

Yup, that sounds like the public. That's why I went with just names and no explanations, so if they haven't been reading the story so far it's just a guess. That's also why only about 10 people have voted so far on the current one (and also why after two rounds they probably still won't pick the character who's description included the terms "as much cleavage as possible" and "far too much exposed flesh". Not that it'd be anything I don't want to draw, but it has become quite funny to me). I haven't got the solicitation for a labor intensive comic for a while, but when I do it always centers around bizarre fetish porn of some kind. I don't miss those, and I imagine I'll be seeing one any day now.
My vote, by the way, is for knockoff Candlejack.
I realized once I was done I really should have cut two boxes, 8 is plenty of work to get through. My plan for box 10 is a Bollywood musical which a format rather than a genre, so I'd say pretty much anything is allowable, really. I look forward to seeing it, I'll keep an eye out.

She's looking into the killing of Elliot Chow, plus probably some other ninja related crimes - a brawl on a rooftop in Chinatown appears to be on the way as well. The police tend to frown on that sort of thing.

It says "She may be cute - she is deadly" and then below "Just because she's using violence against criminals doesn't mean she's on your side" and "A ninja will not hesitate to use deadly force, neither should you." There's also a block of Lorem Ipsit text in the middle, which is too small to be read.
It's admittedly a strange tack to take with a poster warning police officers about ninja activity. It does say something that Miyuki is the poster girl for it, though (something beyond that I have lots of pictures of her to use, even).
