It's just this thing here back again but in color. So it gets to be a real deviation this time, I suppose. What it is:
So going along with this journal entry here it occurred to me that it might help to know a little something about the main characters. A lot of this you can see from the existing comics, but some of it will be new.
In other news, I paid $400 for tires last week and only got two tires. Curse you Pirelli & C., SpA! Lucky thing the other two aren't worn out yet.

Horace Walpole wrote Gothic novels in the 1700s - he was the start of the Gothic/supernatural/horror artistic movement that took root in the 1800s and eventually gave us Dracula and Frankenstein, among others. Robert Smith is/was the lead singer of the Cure (he's still alive, as far as I know, I don't know that the Cure is still musically active though).
So basically she's more like an 80s-90s punk rocker than a Hot Topic kid or a pseudo-Victorian vampire, if any of that makes sense.

Wonderfully done. Good to see some people still take pride in their stories and characters. All that's in the media now'a days is sex, money and drugs. Very refreshing to see otherwise.

Now I can't say there isn't a fair amount of violence and some nudity in the story I've been writing so far, but my hope is it will prove to be an interesting story in it's own right, and that the characters are engaging and have some depth to them.
My big problem with media now is that it's all remakes and copies of things that were successful before, but didn't need to be done again (also, gritty reboots). Hollywood especially is very risk averse, and the business side is totally dominant over the creative side, so we get things that aren't original and are meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
I'm glad you like what you see here. Please have a look around the comics, and the written work (still in progress, stasrts here - [link] ) when you have a chance.

Very nice, you seem to have a very active imagination. My favorite is gonna have to be Clarissa, solely because of skintone, hair, and the whole goth thing.
Question though; What's with Lyta being Airforce and not some other service branch? Marines? Navy? Just wondering...

Clarissa has become very popular with people, which is pretty neat considering I created her originally for a one-off gag about goths at the beach.
I'm not really sure, when I was coming up with her character originally I think it was shortly after the intervention in Kosovo, which at the outset was largely done by the Air Force (or that's how it appeared in the media) so it was probably just a matter of high visibility. Traditionally, we have a strong Navy presence here (being right on the ocean and all) so that might have made more sense.
