Somewhere in the Sahara, or maybe the Rub' al Khali, Miyuki tries to get what shade she can from the shadow of her camel as they rest while waiting out the hottest part of the day. Finished color version of this - [link] . I read a book about Morocco recently, and got the idea for a ninja-with-camel pic out of it somehow. Also, it turned out to be a good excuse to use that pseudo Arabic font I've been hoarding.Ink drawing colored in photoshop.

Most likely she's going to meet some world weary Frenchman in a rumpled linen suit, who, in the midst of chain-smoking Gauloises in a small coffee shop in Marrakesh, will begin to explain that there's more than meets the eye about that Byzantine manuscript, when he suddenly drops dead, an expertly thrown dagger lodged between his shoulders. A shadow separates from other shadows and slips through a beaded curtain toward the back door, and they're off, assassin vs. assassin in a chase down the narrow back alleys of the bazaar.
Actually, Official Ninja Business takes place in an ever widening circle of exotic locales. And a number of mundane locales as well, but I don't think "Miyuki drives to Barstow" would make a very interesting picture.

Of course, she's got to be ready if rogue water buffalo- I mean Bedouin nomads of course, try to ambush her out in the middle of nowhere.
