Description
"A modern marvel of the steam age, the Automaton Butler features all the latest innovations, including Dr. Babbage's analytical cogitor, silver gelatin photographic receptors, a 1.5 hp household steam piston engine by Amalgamated Locomotive and Traction Engine, and stylish steel handlebar mustache. A tireless valet for the man on the go, a confidential assistant for the lady who blushes at the thought of the help washing her unmentionables, an unquestionable sommelier for the captain of industry who secretly suspects his human butlers of being Scotsmen, Bolsheviks, or possibly Velociraptors. Please inquire by telegram or velocipede-messenger at your local steam automaton agent."
Of course if all that were true his brain would fill a room and it would take him several hours to see anything, and that's before we get to the safety implications of operating a steam engine indoors. But then the 19th century wasn't about safety or practicality, or good decisions that would ensure peace throughout the twentieth, it was about powering everything with steam, gas, or both at once.
Following on the suggestion by that I draw something steampunk. This was pretty fun, I think I'll do it again at some point.
Ink drawing colored in photoshop. Later that evening, the robot butler's well polished hallway was infiltrated by spies.
Enjoy,
~D

Alfroid! He's kinda cute! And he's also sort of what I had in mind in a recent comic script.
