Description Motorcycles of the Fallout universe, from before the war. As in the real world, motorcycles would be used for civilian, law enforcement, and military applications. The name is of course, a variation on real world Harley Davidson motorcycles. It's not really clear what powers the bikes in Fallout, as they clearly have gas tanks and exhaust pipes, but explode and leave radiation behind just like the nuclear powered cars.

In this picture:

Civilian bike in Vault-Tec blue.

US Army scout bike. Painted in matte finish olive drab with no chrome, and a stowed Marksman Carbine. The scout would act as a forward observer for artillery and air strikes, and would only fight if cornered.

California Highway Patrol bike, with optional whitewall tires and a blue flasher in place of the pointless second light on the front wheel fairing. Modern CHP bikes have boxes for stowage on the back, but back in the '50s they didn't really, so I didn't add them here.

Enjoy,

These are awesome! Idea: Perhaps the Army ones could have Satchel Charges for harassment duty?

Awesome Fallout bikes!

The only thing I would say could be added is a large leather bag or satchel to the U.S. Army bike and move the Marksman Carbine to the front of the vehicle, near the handlebars, so it's quicker to access.

Another thing I'd add is a rack of police lights to the back of the Highway Patrol bike, since that seems to be pretty common practice with most Police bikes.

I've varied the placement of the stowed guns on these to make them look a bit different from one another, so far the spot behind the seat like this looks the least awkward, even if it's a bit hard to reach. I've seen photos of US Army scout bikes from WW2 where the rider's M1 carbine is slung sideways across the handlebars which is kinda cool, but in the side on perspective I have here it would be impossible to tell what it is.

In looking at real CHP bikes... I have no idea where the flashers are. I think the headlight just strobes - I've done a pretty good job of going unnoticed by them, by and large. This one will eventually be back as an ex-LAPD bike used by the Adytum Regulators, (if I ever get that far).

Glad you're liking these so far, part 3's gone up today.

Well, most Police bikes usually just have a big window on the front with blinkers on the front of the piece holding the window up. Like this:

Also take note of the storage boxes on the sides of the rear wheel, and the black case on top. Police bikes also put lights below the storage rack too.

And that's awesome! I can't wait to see the Post-apocalyptic version of that Police bike. And I'll check that out now.
