Description More Fallout Humvees! You were looking for more girls, or possibly giant blue demi-deities? Well, here are more Fallout Humvees.

From the top:

The Great Khans version - I like to imagine, from their appearance, that the Khans typically travel on those big retro motorcycles you see around, but there are some things you couldn't carry easily on a motorcycle, and it might be worth having extra mobile fire support as well. Also, in this Fallout - Mad Max road fight scenario I'm dreaming up, a nomad gang would want a big vehicle to help shove bikes and pedestrians around, and why not a military vehicle that could also take to the hills and mount a big gun (seriously, as the game continued the Great Khan armorer became my best source of 12.7mm ammo - and what else would she be stocking it for?).

The Boomers Humvee is a Nellis AFB security vehicle, repainted with Boomer icons and fitted with an antitank missile launcher. Because explosions. Possibly the weapon mount wasn't the original, since Nellis was nowhere near the front lines, but you can be sure the Boomers would mount the biggest guns they could lay their hands on.

The Legion Humvee is an ex-police vehicle uparmored with scrap metal plates. The Legion would use motor vehicles very sparingly, probably only for Centurions or other high ranking officers, and then mostly for intimidation of, and triumphal entries into, newly conquered settlements. The Incinerator is in keeping with the Legion's up-close fighting style, although it might see more action torching a settlement after the battle's over.

I'd say the khans at best would have a jury rigged light machine gun.

The Khans in New Vegas are oddly well armed for a raider faction, but that's mostly because you're meant to get to them late in the game. That said, when I was doing these I did it with the M2 as the "default" weapon. I felt the LMG was a bit too small to really look right, although it works on a secondary weapon on the NCR special ops Humvee:

I've thought about doing some Fallout civilian cars from time to time. It would be a lot more work since they'd all be more distinct (and probably different models), but a bunch of 50s retro-future road warrior cars could be pretty cool.

A Legion Humvee is the most ironic thing I've seen today.

Gotta put those anti-materiel rifles to their intended use...

They need to make the next game already.

You know, I remember looking through various Fallout sites and coming onto Fallout Tactics. It's plot featured the Brotherhood of Steel FLYING eastward to see what they could find. The images I saw had crazy looking flying machines and zeppelin airships.

There' a lot of crazy vehicles in the Falloutverse that are never playable or even in the games.

I played it back in the day, it was pretty much a Fallout version of Jagged Alliance (and JA was great in its own right) - it wasn't without its faults, but generally pretty awesome (and you do get to drive a Humvee).  Since it came from a different developer it didn't have the same retro future look as classic fallout, but it felt appropriately postapocalyptic.

I really want to dig out Fallout 2 again for a replay, but I remember how it goes, get home from work, start up the game, suddenly it's 3 in the morning, but at the end of the next level of the base is a locker with a combat shotgun, just gotta fight through the wanamingos...

This is so awesome. Why couldn't  the Obsidian folks figure out a way to humvees a real thing in the game?

Well, I'm glad they didn't because I wouldn't stop playing it!

Apparently, and I may be wrong about this, they based Fallout 3 on the work they did for Oblivion, so there wasn't any support for vehicles (and the developers didn't want them in the game, anyway). I think it's really too bad, because you could have a Fallout game where your settlements or other areas of interest are connected only through mad max style road battles, so among other things you're always acquiring or upgrading vehicles, salvaging parts from wrecks, and so on. I'm kinda thinking 50's future style Fallout Road Warrior cars may be the next project like this after Humvees...

There is a vehicle mod for New Vegas, but it took some extensive scripting to make it work - also, the game map wasn't designed around it, so you're limited as to where you can drive (without getting stuck).

So, basically a Highwayman with a Tesla cannon mounted on the roof. I'd imagine it would be a bitch to drive off road, but the Tesla cannon would murder everything in the wasteland. Plus, Legion modded Highway Patrol Car? Just like the idea because it's a little ironic to have a psycho killers/slavers riding around in a cop's car.
...And..Gauss rifles...because they're bad ass

This is starting to sound like Twisted Metal!
