Christ on a cracker this took forever.About 8 hours in Photoshop, an hour of which I spent scanning the damn thing because it didn't want to scan right, plus the hour or so of sketching, and I also researched the symbols and hieroglyphics, did a practice painting, planned it all out, so this took a LONG time.
This is a Christmas present for my bestest friend in the world, and I wanted to make it really good for her. I still feel pretty crappy about painting a HORRIBLE Anubis on her closet a few years ago when we painted her room. I'm hoping that this will make up for it.
I only had to reference the clouds from this tutorial: [link]
and I referenced the sand dunes a tad, and the hieroglyphics of course. The rest is all my design.
And no, The Lord of the Dead has no ugly, man-body hair. Hairy chests and armpits make me squirm. And yes, I am aware that the symbols don't line up, I wasn't going to fix it so just pretend that the person who decorated the tomb was a tad retarded....
And if any of you little thieves out their so much as THINKS about stealing this, I'm gonna beat your ass so hard that you won't have one anymore. And then Phantom will proceed to eat you.

So jealous of the dog head, the coloring and that you have photoshop. I got a new laptop and my photoshop didn't work on vista D: I'm hoping for christmas that I get a new one, if not then I'm taking back my old computer!

I try to defend Valen....I'm not sure if my character does. Though I gave him a different outfit then your drawing...and its not the greatest (the male physic is so hard to draw

I was debating about putting a little sketch in the corner that had Valen in a maid outfit but wanted to see if the outfit was good first. I get working on another drawing featuring a maid outfit

Mary, pay attention to the criticism warning.
This is a gift, so I do not wish for any, I should have mentioned it.
Besides, it is about two headlengths long as it should be, but Anubis has a bigger head than a normal human. And do not forget that this is a deity, so he does not have to be anatomically correct.
But thank you, those decorations were a pain in the ass.

well it's a gift for a very very close friend, it's sort of personal, so I really didn't want this to be poked fun at. If you knew how the both of us are, you would understand why it's so special.
That is why I almost considered disabling comments on this one, because it is so special, that any sort of comment makes it seem....less so...somehow.

no I'm not angry, and I know you like it. I'm just anal about my gifts, I've had them ripped apart by critiques before and I get reeeeeeaaaaaally protective now. I love giving gifts, so to have one trashed right in front of you kinda murders the spirit of giving. I sorta have this protective reaction whenever I post a gift and go into rabid guard dog mode. On the net it is very hard to say things in a certain tone like you would if you were speaking, and what I said was meant to be in my normal, mostly happy tone. Once you befriend me it's reeeeally hard to truly piss me off.
