One thing that I've struggled with when it comes to Alistair, son of Twilight Sparkle and Thorax, is his shape shifting powers. I figure as a half changeling half alicorn, his magic in general should be quite strong. But should his shape shifting be glitched by not being a full changeling? And how much?

Then I remembered how much I love Zoroark: Master of Illusions

Alistair can take on the shape of anything, just like a full blooded changeling, but he's utterly unable to shift away his antennae. Thorax doesn't know why and Twilight hasn't been able to find anything biologically wrong with the boy, so they've all chalked it up to Ali simply not having mastered the art. However, if anypony touches his antennae while he's shape shifted, Alistair poofs back into his real form, much to his dismay. As an adult, he learns to hide them in his mane
