I love Theodore Nott. Even with a vague character description... I guess its just because I can really imagine him any way I want.
Any way, I adore your style.

Is nice to put a face to the words. =]

"Abarat" is a book written by Clive Barker, yes, but it's full of very special, colorful and surreal illustrations. This reminded me of those for some reason
(and the book is great by the way, it's worth reading )

I've put the book on my reading list, thank you for the rec.
On the topic of awesome illustration, do you know The Wickedest Witch by Martin Howard? I love the illustrations! It's a hilarious story about a girl wanting to become a wicked which. Unfortunately she's bad at being naughty. The story features traditional witches: they are ugly, smelly, wear dirty knickers and eat disgusting things ) The characters are painted in shades of grey and I enjoyed every page of the book!

How did you imagine him, then?--I'm always interested in how people imagine character with almost no description

Hmm. A little more buff. Not Crabbe and goyle, but not a pale runt. I imagined slightly longer and slightly darker hair. I don't think he's quite sure how to be a Slytherin and is a little insecure. Kind of worried he won't fit in and sometimes tries too hard.

Didn't we speak in German the last time?
A lot of my characters tends to be a bit cross-eyed--it's a point I need to work at

Awww just because the Ravenclaws are smart doesn't mean they "know it" (translation=are arrogant, hehe).
This is well done. I am really drawn to your almost grisaille shadows and your clear definitions of the planes of his face, as well as his sort of blase, uninterested disgust lol XD

I think, that this sort of arrogance is just the negative side of Ravenclaw, just like furtiveness is the negative side of Slytherin and audacity of Gryffindor. And they may also not be arrogant at all, but appear like this for people of other houses--just like the best pupils in my children's day--they were always called arrogant und people who believed them as something better. But looking backwards, I think it was far more a unconscious envy from their less good classmates.
I just was to lazy to explain this in the description...

"But looking backwards, I think it was far more a unconscious envy from their less good classmates." <-- I can guarantee you that this is the case, having been unfortunate (yes, in this situation, unfortunate) enough to be the student who gets really good marks. Jealousy is a very destructive thing. And people only have it because they don't realize how wonderful and beautiful their own selves are. We shouldn't compare ourselves to others, it gets us nowhere.
And lol no, I understand what you mean, My remark wasn't even directed at you. I just tend to speak out about it because I've been in the Ravenclaw's role many times. Being smart doesn't make someone perfect, superior, or free of problems, but not many people tend to realize this for some reason, lol!

I believe you that--you can be a lot like Hermione person, can't you
I'm more like Luna, rather smart, but people just used to see me as a weird person.
I've thought (amough others) at a boy, who was not just smart but also rich and he had taken Englisch lessons for one year before we started with this language at school. It was said, that he wanted to be the very best... Now, I wonder if it was his choice or his parents which have put him under the pressure to be the best student... As a child, you don't really realize such things, but quite a lot of adults still don't understand it...
"Being smart doesn't make someone perfect, superior, or free of problems, but not many people tend to realize this for some reason, lol!"<-- Very true!

"Now, I wonder if it was his choice or his parents which have put him under the pressure to be the best student... As a child, you don't really realize such things, but quite a lot of adults still don't understand it..." <-- OH MAN yes. I agree. I was not one of those kids, but I also knew a boy who was. His father wanted him to be just perfect. And he was the meanest person because he was under so much pressure to beat everyone. Sad, neh?
I've been likened to Hermione, lol, but without the irritating "I know everything" attitude lols. And aw being weird is fun XD I love Luna!

"His father wanted him to be just perfect. And he was the meanest person because he was under so much pressure to beat everyone. Sad, neh?" <-- He must have been a lot like Malfoy, then...
"My" guy has been really decent, actually. As far as I remember, he had just this air of superiority, sort of, and probably still has. (I've met him once as an adult. He seemed to be a nice person--I don't mean this in a negative way.)
