hi i finally come back to look at your other haikuwrimo 2008 entries! (sorry i'm so late.)
day 14 this verse makes me wonder why are humans so weighed down by a lot of care and business.
day 21 love this scenario. i suggest put the first line as the third and remove 'lazy'. it will be more sublime when the readers 'saw' your dog in that posture and get the idea of 'laziness' on their own accord.
i find many good ideas in this set but perhaps the verses are not graphic and detailed enough for the subject matter.
thank you for the good read!

and thank you for your thoughts. i am, by far, yet an amateur when it comes to this form. but since this set, i have been experimenting more and hope to participate again in february. one of these days, perhaps, i might get the hang of it.

You have a great ability for creating the image and turning things that are ugly somehow into a more beautiful creation. I feel once I have ploughed through the haikuwrimos I will have to keep an eye out on the other things you write.

It's certainly a pleasure to read your pieces here, you have the ability to transform something as mundane as rain on a city street into something magical.
I had to smile when I read the 24th, I'm exactly the same.
P.S. In answer to a question you asked in an early comment and I managed to overlook, my brother's gone to Canada to live, should be visiting him next month though (cheap holidays to Canada are a good thing I think...)

canada is a pleasant place to reside. i am certain the cheap holidays make it that much better for you all.

I love number 17.
Watching little kids play is one of my many hobbies.
They're just so darn cute! Especially when they're playing t-ball... and the run the wrong way around the bases. ^^ It's kind of a "oh-my-goodness-melt-my-heart" type of thing.

7th, why do they start work at 6.00am? I've suffered from that one this week.
The 12th is another familiar one for me although in my case it was to see my brother off as he emmigrated to Canada.
I love the 16th, it made me think of Hansel and Gretal as well as birds in the park.

They commence at six o'clock and do not cease until late afternoon. It is rather irritating.
I loathe visits to the airport. Emigrating for school?
I am glad somebody caught the Hansel and Gretel allusion.
Thank you for your comment.

Thank you, dear Kelly.
These haiku are a challenge in that they are abbreviated and yet should have something clever or complex about them. I rarely succeed, but it is a fun exercise just the same.

you never know, you might be a master haiku poet waiting to emerge.
perhaps in the privacy of your own notebooks you could attempt it, if you so desired? so you have no fear of any ill-mannered critics pulling your efforts apart.

I do agree with you, Peter. Poetry is art. It always has been, always will be. It is art in it's own specific way. It works with your inner-self, rather than you eyes.
So yes, dear Peter. You are very profound.

*chuckles* That was my sarcasm surfacing. I do not think myself very profound at all. Such is why I take any chance possible to mock my own profundity.
