Description
Pretty happy with this pedestrian bridge and gatehouse combo. This is going to be the entrance to the town.I am at the point where I can almost say I have finished the castle. All rooms have at least some interior detail.
I used skeleton heads for deer skull trophies. yep. I couldn't do better. I wanted to use fence gates for the antlers, but they didn't line up, so I have straight up skeleton heads in one room. Looks kinda freaky.
I also found out how useful banners and armor stands are for adding miscelaneous clutter. I added a giant storage room to the castle and it's probably the part I am most proud of. I have just realized I could have added some spider webs in there but that's an easy fix. I am really happy with how it turned out.
Seeing how much progress i've made over the last few days, I think it's probably worth it to turn this into a mini series. This is the first screenshot of the bunch, I will upload at least one screenshot per day starting tomorrow and show you everything looks on the inside.

I definitely learned a lot about building in minecraft, there are definitely areas that i like more and other areas from early on which i don't like as much. let's see what the future holds!

I am experimenting with that, if i was successful in making any shaders work, i would have used them already, believe me. As far as texture packs go, i haven't found any which would fit my building style. Many texture packs have clashing smooth stone and stone brick texture, and because i use smooth stone to break up large stone brick surfaces, it is really obvious the two textures don't compliment each other in many packs. On the other hand, many faithful packs are so close to vanilla it isn't even worth using them.
This led me to the decision to make my own texture pack. I will start working on it soon.

ThatΒ΄s also a good idea, I made it once too but Minecraft is so cancerous with adding mods, shaders, plugins or own textures.
I really wished some professionals had created Minecraft and not Mojang XD

well it's still a fun game, and everybody cam make a texture pack they like, if they don't like the existing ones, it's all good!

Sweet! You haven't posted anything about this castle for a long time, I'm glad to see that it's still going strong
It looks great, too! Good detail work with slabs and stair pieces.

yeah, more than it should have, but that was due to an extended art block (pun not intended )
