Description
Lost dutchman state park is one of my favorite places to photograph. During a good spring year, wildflowers carpet the slopes creating a rainbow like palette of colors beneath the impressive peaks. There are many flowers blooming out there right now, and hopefully more will continue to bloom to create a nice robust wildflower display. So expect another shot or two from here in the coming weeks.Lost Dutchman State Park- Arizona.

This is quite lovely, PeterJCoskun. Quite a magical little place you have here.
The dark background does add a little drama...but the photo is outstanding and barely needs it.
Stunning work.

Ugh, I wish I was there! Beautiful, magnificent shot! I just love all of the colors of the flowers in the field. They go very well with the color of the canyon and the surrounding sky. Truly a remarkable shot!

I didn't realize there were so many spring flowers over in Lost Dutchman. I'll have to head out there this weekend or next.

The following week should be good for the flowers out there. If all the brittlebush begin to bloom it will be quite a spectacle.

Magnificent! I'd love to see the desert bloom in person one year. Maybe next year. Thanks for sharing!

It sure is a spectacle, but a good bloom happens every 8-10 years, so the next few years should be great for wildflowers as the last really good bloom was back in 05'.

What a lovely photo! I also think the name of the reserve is pretty funny. Do you happen to know if it's called the "lost Dutchman" park because a dutchman got lost?

Thank you! The park is named after the fabled "Lost Dutchmans Mine". A little bit about the parks history can be found here [link]

It's one of the most beautiful places in the state, and during a good spring it is absolute heaven. Lots of lore throughout the range for sure.

It's beauty must attract lots of tourists.
Does it get crowded a lot, or is the park big enough to not notice?

It's usually crowded during this time when the temps are perfect to be outside and everyone is looking for wildflowers. However, it's easy to feel like your all alone if you venture to the right spots.
