Description
The awe inspiring delicate arch clings to the edge of a cliff while storms pass over the la sal mountains in the background. The clouds allowed for frequent bursts of sunlight. I had waited here for hours to get a shot as tourist after tourist walked down to get their photos taken beneath the arch. It was like nothing I have seen before. An older German gentleman was yelling at every person who walked into his shot. Patience is the name of the game, and I managed a few frames people free from the crazy circus like atmosphere I witnessed. I will definitely have to come back in the fall or winter.Delicate arch- arches national park, Utah

This photo is amazing and the colors are beautiful, but not original.

Thank you, I know the scene itself is unoriginal, but I was just happy to have some nice lighting conditions cooperate with me.

Wonderful shot. Got there early in the Fall one year and was the first on the scene. But the light wasn't anything special. I got some uninspired compositions and collected heaps of discarded cigarette butts from the ground returning to the trailhead.

Thank you! I'd love to have this place all to myself. It was a zoo when I was there. I noticed at the start of the trail where the "ponds" are were quite dirty and loaded with trash. I wish some people thought twice.

Amazing shot. I went there a few times last week hoping for a good photo, but couldn't get around the crowds and screaming children. My patience isn't so good around people.

That was when I shot this was last week. I wonder if you were there to hear the older man yelling at people to get out or saw the group that mooned everyone.

Very nice! Looks like you had some clouds cooperating with ya. Once when I was there, there was a friggin wedding going on below the arch. NO chance for photos.

Yeah there was a storm passing over the park that had some really nice dramatic clouds. There might as well have been a wedding because we sat there for hours just waiting for people to move out of the arch. There were people yelling and a group under the arch even mooned everyone.

Yeah we were pretty fortunate to have clouds...It was extremely windy and rained on and off while waiting for this shot.

Very nice. I'm heading over there soon and maybe I can catch the early full moon rise in the center. June 15th.

That would be pretty neat, you would probably have to be at a lower angle than I was for that.

The best time to shoot arches/canyonlands is in winter, no crowds and the snow makes the colors really pop

I use to live in Moab and I gotta say, there is some spectacular beauty to behold in that area

It really is. You get nice storm clouds, snowfall, rain fall, blistering sun which adds their own artistic element, and then you have the various landscapes; mountains, desert, canyons, etc all within a radius of a few miles.
