Description
If there were ever an image that showcased an intense sense of feeling for me than this was it. The title pretty much sums it up. Standing here alone in the pre sunrise glow in the cool crisp eastern sierra air beneath these beautiful mountains is something I won't soon forget. Arriving in the dark almost hitting a healthy group of deer, I wandered about until I found something of interest. Luckily, there were some wildflowers blooming. These bright yellow mule ears caught my attention and I searched for the perfect plant to photograph. Believe it or not, the exposure times started at roughly 20 seconds, and I had to worry about the slight breeze swaying the flowers around. After the light broke over the horizon, I was able to get the exposure to less than 5 seconds and I tried my best to block any sort of wind from blowing the flowers around. I was hoping there would be clouds, but even without them this ended up being a very colorful scene. With nobody around for miles, the only sounds being the morning breeze and distant rushing water of Mcgee creek I truly felt as if I was the first person to view this landscape. It was true bliss and one of the few moments where I truly and spiritually connected with nature. Everyone should experience a morning like this.John muir wilderness- California.

This is one of my favorite pictures of yours ^-^ I love your description and I sympathize whole-heartedly. I had a similar experience in Sequoia Nat'l Park... off the beaten path quite a ways the trees opened up to this spring-green meadow so verdant that all I could see was that shade of green. There were no cars, no other people, just me and the birds and the meadow... I actually had to remind myself to start breathing again <:3 If everyone had an experience like that, I don't think there would be any more wars.

I've felt that at times--it can't be replaced by anything, that connection. Not even a close marriage can compare (which is probably the reason my wife hides my camera and shoots jealous looks when I announce I'm heading out in the wee hours of the morning to shoot)
Excellent image and story

Beautiful photo. I love how clear the yellow flowers are in the foreground and yet the background is in focus too. The colors are so rich. Outstanding shot! Thanks for sharing.
