Magnetar - concept of handgunThis is my work - Design of sci-fi handgun. I did it in conservative style. There are not extraordinary shapes. Piece works with highly concentrated magnetic impulse. There are not usual ammo. Just removable battery pack in the grip. I covered model into my favorite color - various black. Whole work is mine. I used 3ds max, v-ray and Photoshop.

I think that this is my favorite of the pics, it shows the detail of the design best in my opinion. Excellent work on the flashlights btw, the rocker switches and the detail work on the bezels really give them some texture. I like the pose of the guns in this version the most as well as it shows most of the design off at once. The design difference between the top rib and bottom rail lend a sort of practical taste to it, visual impact reserved for areas to be seen and design utility in areas of use. The choice of focus in the composition of the pose is what makes this my favorite of the 4 pics though, just really set the feel of the photo for me and made it seem very solid.

I want to start 3-D modelling the virtual weapons which program would you suggest to get the best quality results like seen above

Today it doesnt matter what program you choose. If you have good ideas then you can use whatever of them.

There is quite a few really cool details about this that complete its nice overall design, but i'm most drawn to the slide shape and design.

Cool concept, great mockups. The only thing I would say is that it seems improbable that a magnetic weapon would look so similar to a kinetic weapon.

I'm impressed how you made the surfaces look correct for the variable materials. The part that would be the "slide" on a usual handgun looks to be protectively coated steel like the real thing, and the plastic parts seem plastic. I guess it's like a hand rail gun? Then we need a source of the projectiles stored in there too, maybe fitted along in the battery housing?
