Description Concept of futuristic handgun.

Design is based on usual profile but it is not working with standart bullets. There is a battery instead of mag. This one I did guite a time ago. Now just rendered it.

Worked in 3ds max, used vray rendering engine and finished it in photoshop. Model is highpoly.

So what do you think. Do you like it or not? tnx for comments if any. bye.

gun about which you can say one thing for sure - the TRADITION of traditional form....verified by wars and conflicts.... preferences.... simply reliable and perfect...the battery in the handle...This is a good thing....easy and familiar replacement..... as I understand it... the ribs on the trunk...the inevitability of the energy factor (probably overheats)))))) this is logical and acceptable.... The shape of the handle is very interesting............. I've seen similar (or close to it) given the current technology I want to see him with a red-dot sight.... (aimpoint Barska???? ) and Yes there is the idea of how it will look to the muzzle for energy weapons??? for example, the tube concealing the brightest part of the flash shots??? maybe, maybe...

hi. tnx for review. Fact is that I have too much design with that usual form. Probably in the future I will do more with some new kind of form with will not copy present handguns...

it will be very difficult for you to overcome your habits....one of the advantages of the classic shape of the gun - its minimalism...  Yes there are many good decisions.. but they are good when the physics mechanism drives the form, and no I don't find the classic form a bad quality.... and let it stay that way.. Believe it.... the gun is like a hammer which gained its final form after surviving billions of bumps on the nails and it is difficult VERY difficult add something to hammer

P.S.   but to continue all the same and are perfect examples of Kriss vector and bullpup scheme

it just question how to work. for concepters to beat the habits are best way how to improve and find new ways. and you are right. that is common rules of PRO concepters that form is subjected to phisics. Actually most beginers have this rule up side down.

Very nice.  Just a thought, would those ribs on the trunk be likely to catch on a holster, potentially causing a problem if the weapon needs to be drawn quickly?

Nice piece of work though, wish I could do stuff like it.

peterku In reply to RedRapparee [2019-07-03 05:04:24 +0000 UTC]

yea definitely you are right. in real world those small parts would be cases in some box to prevent all that problem.

if the holster is plastic with an extension under the ribs, then slide it until it clicks in the extreme position

Captain-Kronos [2019-06-30 15:01:43 +0000 UTC]

Very nice design! Though I am curious: if it is battery powered, inferring either plasma or laser, why have a magwell? Why retain the slide of the weapon when it is unneeded? The last time I designed a fictional energy weapon, I had the battery where the slide and the hammer would be on, for example, a Beretta 92FS. Just a bit of an issue with function following form. Nonetheless, very good looking design, and I personally like the retainment of both the magwell and the slide; I especially like the warning sign in the place of the hammer.

hi you are right it has quite common profile. In the future I plan do some desings with non-typisal profiles and shapes....

Those side protrusions would seem to be a hindrance for concealment.  Otherwise a solid design.
