A issue of Deadpool no one will ever see, well besides this page!
At the time that it was done there was a lot of Deadpool available and they waited for a spot to fit it in, but things all around Marvel Universe changed fast, unfortunately this story had most of them in this issue, it would have needed way to many re-dos!!!

How acceptable is it for an inker to make changes and improvements on a pencilers works?
I dont think I could ink that other piece line for line with out the overwhelming need to correct things, add things etc, turning the original technically into a mere break down for what I would render as the finnished product.
is this Done in the industry? frowned uppon? shunned?

how far can an inker take liscense over the pencils?

How I usually approach it is I ask the penciler what he would like, style wise and how crazy he/ she wants me to get. I'm a flexible inker so I don't have a problem with leaning in certain directions.
When working for a publisher (that other page wasn't)an editor is also a consideration...they are after all the person who hands you the check...so I balance what each say and try to find a middle ground.
As far as making things look better and correcting art, that is the inks job to a certain point.... I've done my fair share but one must also consider time & peoples feeling. A 'mistake' to one person might be 'style' to another.
As far as if its done, yes, is it frowned on, mostly by pencils. If a penciler doesn't like how you inked them then they will ask not to use you in the future, same with an editor. An inker is to embellish and tighten and artists lines, not to take advantage and 'lose' the pencilers style over theirs.
Its all a fine dance, as is any art one does.

People pleasing is Not some thing im good at.
I can make it look better and have in the past inking others stuff. But I have stepped on toes doing it.
But you are right.
talk to the penciler and the editor and get thier take.
when in question just follow Thier lines instead and play it safe i guess.

I think I only have 2 maybe 3 pages from the book, but I was a bit worried just posting this one.

Yeah the line wieghts are a little confusing having a hard time making out foreground,midground and background at first glace.

Your not entirely wrong, all art is opinion, but if I was to ink this again I would do it differently.
Plus, it would have been colored which which would help the eye see whats there.
I've seen plenty of books where there is no variation at all in line weight

Agreed this is a very beautiful piece. Probably would had been much better then some of the other Deadpool they put out. Though I guess that's just part of the shuffle sometimes. Thank you for sharing. XD

Ya, I can imagine alot of things happen behind the scenes. Lots of stories I'm sure lost to a trash bin, or kept in a portfolio somewhere. Be cool to see some people come back with kind of a missing collection. XD

I can only imagine...it would be a cool treat for the fans if someone could dig up some of that stuff and put it together. Maybe someday...who knows maybe that's where this pitch I'm working on now will end up, lol.
