first of all I mean no disrespect at all for you or your photo friend.
In my point of view I see no need for the seashell in the photo, its an eye distraction of the cadre beauty from the sand lines and weather.
but in some other way it would look nice in the frame if it was taking from a close distant and from from of the shell the see its nice circles and also will get from it a nice reflection from the shallow water.
still I find your capture very nice and really enjoyed it from the nice weather, exposure and depth.
sorry for any inconvenient and best regards,
Baher Amin.

I love the fact that the shell is in the shot! It makes the shot for me!

respect to your point.. I think the shall back have no beauty to add to the photo.. and as I said placing it to show the front of it will be more beautiful in my point of view.
thank you for the comment.

Of course there is no inconvenience and I appreciate your point of view. The conch shell provided a focal point for the lines on the sand and the background clouds, if I had done a close up of the shell it would have been a different type of picture not the one I had intended. Thank you for taking the time to critique my work.

I think the shell catches the eye, ands then you look elsewhere. Without it, where would one start?

Looks good Peter, I like the shell, and the reference to the conch shell is great. Good sense of untouched nature here.

Well, I have to disagree with the critiquer on this one. I think the shell adds depth to the photo, it's as if the shell is drawing me into the photo somehow. I feel like I am in the photo and reaching for that shell, lol. Beautiful work, my friend!

Very cool in its simplicity. The shell drew me in and the ripples in the sand drew my eye back.
