Description I had a REALLY hard time with this one. Most of the things I mention here are what I feel shaped the way I look at and experience my own art and how things came to be. Some are really old influences and some are rather new. I'm also pretty sure I missed some super apparent influence of mine, but y'know... Can't see the forest for all the trees. ;3

Satoshi Urushihara - Langrisser / Gowlanser: I think he was my first real inspiration to draw more awesome stuff and broke me free from the kind of square western thinking and design when I was as a young artist. I absolutely adored his art and I still do. Super sized armor, big weapons and pretty girls.

Vangelis: His music was probably the first I ever heard on a CD player. I was completely enthralled by his atmospheric electronic music and melodies. I used to sneak into my older brother's room and listen when he was out. A lot of my ideas has been hatched while listening to his music. He is a big part of what made me -me-.

Yuri: I love girls loving girls... It never stops being a true inspiration and more or less always influence most of the things I create.

Legend: This old movie, not to be confused with "I am Legend", is just so full of magic and atmosphere. Absolutely love it. Tom Cruise is in it, but bear with it! It's a truly classic high-fantasy movie that everyone should watch in my opinion.

Jhonen Vasques - Jonny the Homicidal Maniac: An absolutely off the chart comic about terribly pitch black humor. It's so twisted and bloody and the style is so aggressive, so at least for me, it's a really awesome read. When I get tired of censorship and moral panic, I read this comic.

My Little Pony: Uhm... I loved it when I was a kid. T_T Fizzy was my favorite one! Truth be told though, I still love the old classic My Little Ponies... The ones that still had some curves on them. Me and my sister used to play with the pony-dolls all the time. Sparked my creativeness as I rarely played with toys at all tbh. I just wanted things because they looked pretty or cool to look at. I guess I played with them in my mind instead.

Cobra: This was probably one of the first anime's I ever saw. This, and Starzinger among others, made it into the swedish movie market way before the term Anime was even known at all. I found this show to be so full of awesome action and he's got a freakin' psycho gun in his left arm! Since it was so different with its violence compared to the "normal" kid's cartoons around at that time, it woke me up and let me think outside of the box a little.

Dark Crystal: Again an old classic just filled to the brim with fantastic creature designs. A definite watch for anyone.

John Bauer: This is a Swedish artist who's painted a lot of fantastic art from classic nordic folk tales and such. His art is really dreamy and always reminds me of when I was younger, walking in the deep forest with my grandpa who used to tell me and my younger sister stories about trolls and woodland spirits.

Record of Lodoss Wars: This was the first full-length anime series I ever bought and watched in its entirety. Again, it's a high-fantasy, very traditional story that fitted perfectly into my own RP interests. It gave me an insight to what fantasy really is, since I rarely read any books.

Yuji Iwahara - King of Thorn: An absolutely fantastic Manga to begin with. I really love the way he inks his art and his reluctance to use tones and also the way he handles character expressions. I try to learn as much as I can from him to improve my own, currently very shaky, inking skills.

Secret of Mana: -Again- a fantasy themed genre. This game was the first RPG I ever played through, not counting Zelda: A Link to the Past. The story is gripping and the art style is really colourful and very thought through. I love the lore of the world and it always inspires me when thinking back at it.

This is one of the reasons I even considered doing something productive with my DA account, so thank you for all of the hard work it's bearing fruit in otherwise unknown places.

Yes I'm sure we're all surprised that this young woman is a fan of and inspired by yuri. ;D Didn't even surprise me when you posted that originally, well except for the arm band. I has no idea such a thing existed.

Legend and the Dark Crystal are two of my favorites too. I never managed to see much of Record of the Lodoss War, but I liked the bits I did see.

I LOVE your influence map! Vangelis and SoM and The Dark Crystal and Urushihara... not to mention JtJM and RoLW.

Now I'm gonna have to check out Legend and John Bauer... and Iwahara, if I can find his work.

With so much win in your influence map, it's no wonder your work is Kickin' Rad... please disregard the HORRIBLE pun... I know it's bad, but I'm too proud of my self for thinking of it to delete it now.

I want to play Secret of Mana rather badly. I have (and adore) Legend of Mana, and I'd like to go back to its origins.

Also, Dark Crystal is wonderful. I must watch Legend, as it's the final in the three 80's glitterfilms I have come to love. (The other, and my favorite, is Labyrinth.)

Hmm, I've always been more of a Jean-Michael Jarre fan, but I can't complain about Vangelis. I mean, dude did a concept album about the Book of Revelation; you have to respect that.

Legend and The Dark Crystal are pretty awesome movies, mostly because they are in a class of their own (to me at least), at least until the sequel to The Dark Crystal comes out... also JTHM was something I wasn't expecting to see as one of your influences, Squee was an alright read, but not as amusing as JTHM. Lots of fancy things on here, only heard of a few of em though.

I can definitely see Iwahara's influence in your art. Mainly in the faces. I also loved Legend and The Dark Crystal. Course Legend was a bit sad cause it was clearly a brief glimpse in an obviously fantastic world. I also think The Dark Crystal was the first Jim Henson movie I watched outside of the Muppets movies.

But it is indeed some nice inspirations you have there :'3
