Description
This is Harper Goffs Nautilus from the 1954 Disney-Movie, the papermodell that is available for free from the Disney-experience-website (great resource by the way). Since I thought it lacked some Detail, I added it, and after that promptly had to repaint the whole ship. The windows and lamps glow now in the dark and are under plastic domes, I added a railing (which isn't there in the original Nautilus, but I thought would fit) and made the edges at the Nautilus' front.Related content

Wow! Excellent job. I love the Nautilus. The finish and lighting you've upgraded are fabulous.
I built one from papier mache about nine years ago and waterproofed it so it would float. I wanted to moor it in dock at a local model boat show. One day I had a big shed sort-out and threw it out, and now I'm really annoyed with myself for not taking any photographs of it. AGHHHHH!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! Although this is the old version, since then, I upgraded it with real lights: :thumb469123863:
You made it waterproof? How? What did you use for that? Because I someday saw someone on the internet (can't remember who, though), who build a radio-controlled Nautilus able to dive and everything. I was green with envy! That thing just looked wonderfull (but is totally over my head, so mee)
Sorry, for you that you didn't take pictures. What a pity!

Oh, I just used about a whole tin of polyurethane varnish on it, inside and out. The fumes almost killed me.
I don't do RC stuff due to budget, but I would have loved a functioning model. How cool, but evil, would it have been to attack other ships at the model boat show? Take out a few trawlers with the spike and then disappear leaving onlookers bemused and slack-jawed! Awesome.
Somebody told me they made an RC version with their brother, and lost it at the bottom of a lake because it failed to surface.
It could have been a "fisherman's tale" though because he had no pictures either.
Sometimes I've been put off making something truly awesome because of how long it might take to complete. But looking back, I sometimes wish I had begun a masterpiece a while ago, because by now it could be really impressive. Know what I mean?
I heard that you can even get functioning mini-torp's for model submarines. Now that is something else.

Ah, okay, have to remember that, sounds good
That would certainly be very cool, although I also thought what would happen, if the sumarine gets entangled in some water plant or something. A swimming boat can be pushed to the coast, a submersible under water? Not that much... But it would certainly very cool! (and I would take a picture before i loose it )
Yes I know what you mean. On the other Hand, it could be still in a very early process stage, because you never get the motivation to get truly started... It's really just a matter of motivation. But I know how hard that is!
Functioning mini-tropedos? How cool is that?! That would shurely look very, *very* cool!

I think the torpedos were meant to be gas propelled, or compressed air or something. Anyway, they actually fired, from what I heard.
I will try to get some Enterprise photographs taken tomorrow. Still catching up with all of the drawings I have promised people, (far too many!)
I notice you have not written any journals. Do you have and plans to tell your fans a little about yourself?

It sounds awesome! If I ever get a working Nautilus, I will look after these torpedos too.
Enterprise? Like in Starship Enterprise? Sounds very cool
No, I don't plan on writing journals. My life is not that interesting!

Awwww. Everybody's life is a little bit interesting, even if it's just a tiny microscopic bit. Even yours. How could somebody who steampunks everything not be interesting?
Okay, I'm jut teasing.
I'm putting those figure group photo's on now. They aren't great pictures, but "myeh", it's done.
