Hm.

Well, pick one then.  Either way, I got a giggle out of it, and I still think it's a pretty wrong sense of humor - wrong as in impersonal to Chole in the same way that putting a sign on a guy's back that says "kick me" is.  Bad humor?   Maybe.  Funny?  Probably.

I'm certainly not trying to say that this kind of humor is wrong - impolite - but I'm not aching to start a discussion here.

If you have to explain a joke, you'll ruin it, but here we go anyway...

"All Deliveries in Rear" is a sign typically placed in front of businesses to indicate that people performing commercial package deliveries must use a separate entrance from customers.

"Delivery" and "package," however, are words that can also have reproductive or excretory connotations, and on a horse (or centaur), all such activities would take place at its posterior.  "Delivery," in such a context, could refer to defecation, urination, sex, anal sex, giving birth, or a variety of other acts of dubious and disreputable nature.

Regardless of which act is being discussed, no-one would ever put up a large public sign about it, as that would violate a variety of social norms and mores.  That such a crude sign not only already exists but is extremely common — and merely has to be moved from its normal location outside a business to the side of our hapless heroine to perform the less reputable function — is the source of the humor, indicating just how much common everyday objects can be wildly violative of social norms if simply moved to a new location, and thus forcing the reader to ask potentially difficult questions of himself or herself about his or her own relationship to and opinions of those social norms.

As all comedy is rooted in a shared recognition of wrongness, we are then forced to confront the wrongness of the sign in its given situation as well as the wrongness of Zia's chosen transgression to place it there, and we laugh as a form of shared understanding of the awkwardness and wrongness of both the situation in general and of Zia's behavior that caused it.

"All deliveries in rear", okay fine.  Horse got some junk in her new trunk, whatever.  But what does that have to do with her reading a book?  And why is she disoriented?  What joke?  What did Zia do?  I don't understand.

Um...  I guess I need to spell out what happened in each panel for like the three people in the audience who didn't get it?

(1) Chloe is minding her own business, reading a book.

(2) Zia uses her tail to quickly put a ridiculous and insulting sign on Chloe's back while taking a photograph of Chloe wearing the sign.

(3) Zia laughs at the photo while Chloe is blinded and disoriented from the camera's flash.

(4) Chloe irritably asks how much money Zia wasted on a simple practical joke.

Oh.  Okay.  That helped.  Thank you.

The second panel was disjointed and made no sense whatsoever.  I also assumed "BOMF" is a word or acronym for some current meme I'm totally not aware of.  It sounded like a Pokeball opening up when I first read it, so that didn't help matters.

Zia.  Her name is Zia.  We just had an entire mini story arc where she explained why she goes by Zia, and definitely not by "Connie."  >_>

Yeah, and I forgot her preferred name and didn't bother to look it up because she's in a totally different universe so it's not like I might actually offend her, right?
