Sometimes, your Muse gets inspiration, and you need to do something about it. I drew Hazel here over the last 24 hours, because for some reason, ThinkGeek decided to "sell" as an April-Fool's joke a sea-green blanket that makes you look like a cecaelia. OMG. And my wife was like, "Should we buy one?" OMFG. But it's just a joke; they don't sell it for real. But a bunch of the commenters were like, "I want one!" and then I desperately needed to draw octogirls with sea-green legs for awhile, because reasons. O_o

This was also an attempt to do a slightly better underwater background than I've done before. I think it's at least somewhat believable: The glows of the sunlight look pretty good, and the waving seaweed is recognizable. It's at least better than some backgrounds I've done, even if it's not really that impressive. I'm a bit disappointed with how static her pose is, but it is what it is at this point: Do better in the next drawing, I guess. This is 100% drawn in CorelDRAW, with a mouse, without even converting anything to bitmaps for any additional effects; it's all vectors from start to finish.

So anyway, uh, here's Hazel. She's pretty, and she has black hair, and she has green eyes and green tentacles, and she wears a starfish bra and a golden pendant with a blue jewel in it, and — I really got nothin'. But I hope you like her.
