-Snipers in the military usually act in teams: The shooter and the spotter. The spotter has a scope or binoculars to calculate the windage, distance, etc and confirms the kill for the shooter.
-Anti-materiel rifles come in semi-auto and bolt action as well.
-Anti-material rifles are NOT anti-tank rifles.

If you decide to come back and add anything to this, one thing I think would be worth addressing would be misconceptions about what things look like through a sniper scope. Movies and comics usually show the view through the sniper scope and the target is magnified so much that if the sniper was using a real scope he'd have to be less than 50 feet away (or whatever). In real life you're trying to line up those crosshairs on something teensy (and also, you can't hold still, so you have to time your shot as the crosshairs pass over the target).

I have heard much of the .50 cal sniper rifle and its capabilities. Unfortunately, I am not Infantry personnel, so getting available slots to take a class all the way in Fort Benning, Georgia, for sniper training, is probably never going to happen unless I reclass to Infantry.
