More tips on how to make your character look like a trained fighter.- The first one is debatable. I'm not implying that every trained fighter does exactly that. But when retired MMA champ Bas Rutten says it's a good idea, it's a good idea.
I'm already getting the feeling that ~Dojang is gonna start arguing at me on shit like this. He always does.
- Trained fighters use arcing punches, but they don't simply flop their arms at people. The punch only has power if the forearm is lined up with the trajectory of the punch. Also, the real power isn't from the arms, but the legs.
- Here I showed the roundhouse, but don't forget the other moves such as the side kick, hook kick, etc. Though I doubt those are used that much in a street fight, especially in close range. So that's what knee strikes are for.
- Pictured here is the hip throw. There are many moves such as the shoulder throw, leg trip, tomoe nage, etc. You may have seen characters like Ryu from Street Fighter perform some of these.
- The front choke is easily counter-able since you're basically presenting your whole body to the opponent. You could do stuff like armbars or nut kicks to counter it.
- To counter that headlock, you can trip em, throw em, grab their nuts, or reach over to fishhook their face...it's just too easy.
- Seriously. No girly flailing.
- But of course, in a street fight, there are no rules. Pick up any object to use as a weapon. Bite him, fish-hook him, kick him in the nuts. Anything goes.
- Also, using a gun is always better.

I meant that as in punches with extra weight put behind them using your legs. Obviously.

But of course. Luckily, I covered that in my other martial arts tutorial.
Hm...I'll add that bit of info here too then.

Also, put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye if you notice him using his legs. I've seen enough GSP fights to know that taking a hit to the head with a bounce from the legs is BAD. NEWS.

when GSP was fighting Jake Shields, one guy in our living room yelled "Just give Shields a gun! GSP will fucking dodge those too, but at least it'd be more entertaining!"

Then there's the ones even lower on the food chain - the angry nerds. Angry nerds usually talk tough in a geeky World of Warcraft mideval kind of way, and get pissed when you don't like the same anime they do, and are highly judgemental of people with their stereotypes as well because of their lack of any social life outside 4chan or World of Warcraft.
The only threat they pose is a cybernetic one as they usually hit like the guy at the bottom.

Trained fighters are usually very pragmatic. Like, when some dude asked Bruce Lee: "What would you do if a Brazilian Jujitsu practitioner pinned you on the ground on a street fight?" His answer was "Bite him, of course."
Also, he reportedly said he'd prefer a gun on a street fight. The man who has honed his skills to kick-your-ass-with-my-little-finger levels and has the physique of a charging rhino prefers a gun. That's fucking pragmatism right there. I approve.

Being a fan of Bruce Lee, I distinctly remember the "bite him" response. That's a great answer.
I know of a couple MMA fighters who own guns. Those include Forrest Griffin and Brock Lesnar.
And me being a gun enthusiast, I can't argue with that.

actually, the whole "bite him" thing is a bit misleading. bites, while painful, are usually pretty superficial and there are reports of noobs trying the bite escape and ending up with broken arms from the jerk reaction. just saying it's not a good idea to try.
also, TWENTY FOOT RULE!!

No girly flailing unless it's funny. And/or you're mocking your opponent with it.
Thanks for this, mate! Very useful!
