Description
Done for my excitement about SF3 3rd Strike: OE.Sorry if these are mostly the only Street Fighter characters I ever draw, but they're so much fun to draw.

Good Necro x Effie pic! Necro doing that singing outro after he wins was interesting. I assume they both like opera, lol.

Its a shame that Necro is probably TOO interesting for Capcom to ever use him again. Capcom doesn't take chances like they used to.

Oh yeah, Necro is very interesting. I know a lot of people don't care for him since he's very fantastical and sci-fi like (but not as much as Twelve) though. I'd like to see him come back someday. I'd like to know more about Illia. Plus, I like him with Effie. It's nice that characters can have romantic relationships or marriages for variety in fighting games.
Yeah, Street Fighter 3 in general was a big chance (and risk) back in the day too. Unfortunately, I don't think Necro is super mega popular. I assume Capcom would be hesitant on big gambles and unknown quantities now because of them not wanting to go into bankruptcy.
But I guess there is always hope and wishful thinking that he'll be back in the future as a playable character in Street Fighter again.

He is very sci-fi looking, but Necro as well as Effie are very reminiscent of Japan's eccentric and really odd and crazy nature. So, I don't quite get the hate.
I understand the bankruptcy thing, but SF4 already has so many well known and popular characters in it, that adding one less popular character in it wouldn't make them go under. Heck, someone like me, who doesn't own or like SF4 would be more inclined to possibly pick up a copy.

I'm sure a lot of people assume Necro doesn't really fit Street Fighter (like Gill and Twelve). It's probably because of their outlandish designs. They're just too "out there."
If you're a fan of Street Fighter II, things were a lot more grounded. It had that tournament-esque feel to it like Van Damme's Bloodsport or The Quest. It was even more martial arts oriented back then. Things just weren't as fantastical (in as far as suspension of disbelief about chi goes). Although, the concept of chi has been around a very long time too and kind of feeds into the whole martial arts mythos as well. There was no futuristic stuff, no clear signs of sci-fi. I know Blanka was pretty "out there" but the concept of him being a feral wild man who had to survive on his own is probably a bit more plausible than some of the more "bizarre" characters in Street Fighter 3. But looking at him from just an image standpoint, Blanka would fit into the "out there/ridiculous/bizarre/oddball" category also. But then, Blanka was also one of the first of those oddball characters from fighting games in general. Alpha and Street Fighter 3 twisted things around and started adding all kinds of different tech, more science and all that. People might not have liked those changes at the time.
Plus, Necro in a way supplanted both Blanka and Dhalsim. Those 2 were very popular. People might not have liked that either. This could also have been a reason.
I think Street Fighter 3 added quite a lot of things that maybe people weren't used or accustomed to at that point. Maybe people might not have been ready to embrace those characters back then. I know with myself, I did not give Street Fighter 3 a fair shot back in the day. A lot of my favorites weren't even there. I passed on the Street Fighter 3 series for a long time.
***
Do you think the majority of the fanbase would want Necro in the next Street Fighter game? I like him, but Capcom would have to add him despite what the fans might think. They would have to take a chance on him of course...

Its funny how people think Necro is just a fusion of Blanka and Dhalsim, when in actuality, he plays like neither of them.
You'd think now that people would be more accustomed to outlandish characters.
I don't think many fans WOULDN'T want him per se, but they probably don't care either way.

I know. Necro is not really like those two. I just think people don't like having to drop their old favorites. You get attached to the characters and all that. Nostalgia for the past kind of fuels it. Necro might have taken the full brunt because fan favorites went away.
Maybe. What do you think is the line between realistic and outlandish? Is there one? If they're too outlandish, maybe they should go to Darkstalkers or Marvel vs. Capcom instead.
I bet from the casual point of view, the fanbase probably don't care so much. I do think fan favorites will have the highest priority first to come back though.
Would you want to see regular Illia or a prototype Illia make it in instead of fully enhanced Necro? That might be interesting if Capcom don't want to go past SF3 yet. I don't know if that's even possible though.

I guess so. Same old characters get boring really quickly though.
I personally don't think Necro would be too much of a risk, because all of the fan favorites are already there. Adding brand new characters is a bigger risk, which they've taken already.
COuld be interesting, though I doubt Capcom cares much about canon anymore.

Yeah, that's true.
I think there's also the issue that Ilia wasn't Necro until Street Fighter III happened. Story-wise, he wouldn't fit unless it's after III (or they use regular Ilia/prototype Ilia before, lol).
Of course, that's if you think the canon even matters. I have no idea if Capcom cares about the storyline/canon. I'd assume they'd have a story for him if Necro showed up in the SF4 series...

I really hate losing to Necro and having to listen to that opera tune they love to do at the end of a fight ¬_¬
Really nice work! brings back memories

Haha, yeah, I was more annoying in 3rd strike, since Necro's voice got more high-pitched. In double impact/new generation, his voice was a bit deeper, making it more bearable to listen to.

I can imagine lol. Most of the SF3 members weren't as good as the ones they replaced.

Eh, I'm not just talking about SF3, I'm talking about the whole series. Mind you, the SF2 cast is definitely classic, but I still find characters like Ryu and Ken to be very boring.

Ah, alright. To be honest I have more problems with all the shotos (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan and whoever else I'm missing, Sean, Sakura and Gouken are possibly too different to be considered shotos IMO) being hilarious easy to use, though I do feel that they are boring as well.

I've never been really good at fighting games, so I tend to focus more on their designs, rather than their playability.

Ah, right. Speaking of Capcom designs, I love the majority of their Darkstalkers designs, mostly the males sans Donovan.

Ah yeah, Anakaris. My personal favorites are Gallon/Jon Talbain and Rikou/Aulbath (the werewolf and fishman respectably). Wish the males got into more crossovers instead of the females. At least Anakaris got into Marvel vs Capcom 2

Yeah, I've gotten pretty sick of Felecia over the years, but all in all, I think every Darkstalker character was pretty unique.

True, though I'm more anti-Morrigan than Felicia. Actually my most hated character from Darkstalker (in every possible way) is B.B.Hood aka Bulleta. There's just nothing I like about her. Q.Bee isn't a favorite of mine either.

Yeah, I'd say so too. BBhood is probably the most lackluster design in the series.
