Description
Detail:Spock near his breaking point in the hands of a particularly nasty Romulan from my novel Star Trek: Treason [link] . The tattoo and strange haircut is from his attempt to blend in as a Romulan during a failed rescue. Vulcans are difficult to break and once you do they are pretty much insane and not really of any use to anyone.
I said I was going to change the background...but I lied. This is the same background as my Sylar, First Rule of War [link] , same actor too...hmmm, is anyone picking up on a theme here?
I'm way proud of this, I'm particularly proud that this is only about eight hours of work where as Sylar was pushing 30! I learned a lot while working on the other painting and now I'm faster.
The pose was the most difficult part of this piece, I did about a zillion sketches because I didn't have a ref for the pose. Foreshortening for the win!

Thanks! I think the spread fingers add to the idea of tension in hi body, despite being slumped over the fact that his hands aren't slack show he's still fighting against the mysterious pain.

I can't believe I hadn't faved this! It's absolutely incredible, the amount of detail you've gone to is is magnificent, I especially love the blood and (what I assume is) sweat, and the shackles, very inventive!
I have officially been staring at this for about the past 20 minutes trying to soak up every minute detail.... I think this might be my favourite of your work
