Description .....Requires Ngon Variation.....

If you've made a cool fractal that needs a frame.....

1. SAVE YOUR FRACTAL.
2. Run this script on your fractal.
3. Select FRAME at the appropriate time.
4. Save parameters as a flame file.
5. RENDER AS PNG.

If you've made a so so fractal, follow 1 to 4, then

1. Re-run the script on your fractal or the saved frame.
2. Pick all the same variables except this time select PICTURE.
3. RENDER AS JPG.

You now have a picture and matching frame to put together in Photoshop....

Some zooming and/or resizing may be necessary.....

Some variations work better than others I particularly like boarders.

Variables enjoy being tweaked.....

You should try uninstalling Apo 2.02 and reinstalling it, run 2.02 once to reset the registry, and then run 2.08 again. You will have to redo your settings too.

Apo is a constantly developing program and as such things sometimes don't go according to plan, don't worry about it things usually work out in the end.

Do you have any idea where to get the Ngon variation that you say this requires; and how would I install it once I got it?

(Thanks for tolerating noob questions!)

The Ngon is in this pack ... [link]

To install it, make a folder next to your apo.exe file called 'lugins' and put it in there ... Next time you load apo it will be there

P.S. Don't worry about noob questions, we were all noobs once

Thanks! I've got it now!

I hope you don't mind but I altered your flame file to include the instructions you had on the deviation page. I don't plan on giving it out to anyone so it shouldn't really matter. This will just help me to keep the instructions with your file. I also put a text file with the instructions in the same folder but... sometimes things get separated. arg. I've got a bad memory so I won't remember what to do with the flame later without the instructions... at least not until I've used it over and over. Then I'll get used to what I'm supposed to do. (I think. I hope!)

Wow. I downloaded this yesterday morning and already I'm hooked. I haven't made anything new with it yet, but I 've been going through all my old flames to see what they'd look like framed. Awesome.

Thankyou very much, I'm glad you like it ...

If you like this one, you're really gonna like 'icture Frame Extreme', it lets you make odd frames like stars or octagons.

If you run it twice on an average flame, (saving in between) use all the same settings but select picture for the first run and frame for the second, you will have a frame and picture that when rendered as PNG will fit together perfectly in Photoshop ...

Phoenix, do I have to use plugins to use thus script?

phoenixkeyblack In reply to PatriciaRodelaArtist [2007-11-16 14:11:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, you need Ngon, but it's in the Faber Brothers pack.... [link] ...

I'm still not able to get the hang of using plugins such as where to download them etc.....

I feel the best thing to do is for me to make you a plugin folder and zip it up for you, I'll put it in my scraps with your name on.

Just unzip the folder in the place where your [link] file is. the next time you open apo, all your plugins should be there...

I originally wrote the script without the variation choice, and just used boarders. I was just ready to upload when the choose your own thing came to mind...

I'm glad I did it too, I'm in a scripting mood at the moment....

I'm going to need to get some more memory though, some of these new variations take ages to render....
